the stupid passive ICE defense Stotts likes to run, and has come back to in this game...for some explainable reason....is just about the worst defense you can run against the Warriors

The only positive affect Dame has had this game is getting to the line after getting calls. Amazing.

For every good play we make, we sure love to give it right back in the form of a wide open 3.

Honestly we should have lost this game by 35 with how we played. Maybe we still will...

There screens are soooo much better then ours.

This isn’t ICE coverage. This is drop coverage.

ICE you force the ball handler to reject the screen, and you can at least force them down hill from the side , into your dropping big. What we are doing is straight up trailing the ball screen.

We don’t have a single guard on our team physical enough to bust a ball screen over the top. So they’re getting nailed by the pick and we are giving up shoot around type shots to the best shooters in basketball. Just as I type this CJ fouls Klay on a 3 point attempt trying to bust a screen out of control while Kanter sits in the paint.

Absolutely horrendous game planning. This is the kind of shit coaches should be fired over. Without KD this team is not all that much better than us talent wise.

no choice for Mc collum cuz he knew Kanter was not gonna step out.

Moe couldve blocked that and didnt try. GTFO.

CJ did that on purpose. Problem is that isn't the guy you want to foul.

Did Stotts design this defense for an entire team of Russell Westbrook type players? This was an opportunity and I'm not sure you could design a more poor defensive strategy than to let the 2 best shooters have wide open looks the entire game....BY DESIGN.

That, and in 4 years, the Blazers still don't know how to attack a trap. SMH :beatinto:

I had no illusions Portland would win this series but there was a huge opportunity here and the game plan just wasn't up to par. Durant isn't out there and they aren't making players like Green, Looney, Iggy win the game. Very poor.

GSW not even playing that well, but the Blazers once again were totally unprepared to play.
The only difference in the game:

Portland's defense gives their stars wide open 3's.

Golden State's defense makes our secondary players beat them.

You can't beat GS just hoping Curry and Thompson go ice cold.

Don't tell us - tell "Sleepy Time" Terry. :devilwink:
