they can trap Turner

All I can hear all day is "can Warriors win the Finals without KD". No-one thinks we can beat them. They are favourites, but I hope our guys can heear al this noise and disrespect.
They actually play great without him. They are good. You can see how fluid they are. Their bench guys stepped up. .

I see GS without Durant as a team of players who compliment each other and are fluid as a unit.

I see GS with Durant as a team of players who compliment each other, plus one great player who fits awkwardly into the unit, and mostly does his thing solo.

One criticism of Durant joining GS was that they didn't need him.

They still don't. Durant's absence isn't as big a deal as one might think.

having the best offensive player in the league is never a bad thing

History of Game 2s in biggest series in franchise history:

1990 NBA Finals: lose game 1, win game 2
1991 WCF: lose game 1, win game 2
1992 NBA Finals: lose game 1, win game 2
1999 WCF: lose game 1, lose on Elliott 3 in gm2
2000 WCF: lose game 1, win game 2 (106-77)

Of course, we lost all those series though. The only other big Game 2 we’ve played was 1977 when we lost games 1 and 2 in NBA Finals but won championship.

I agree. Adding Durant to that team was simply not fair.

My opinion though is that removing Durant from GS does not diminish GS in remotely the same way it would diminish literally any other team in the league.

I actually like their play w/o him too.

We got this tonight as long as we see some changes and don't roll with the same D we had game 1.

It's all going to be about focus and desire. If we can cut down on all the stupid unforced mental shit we did last game like lazy defense/shitty communication, stupid turnovers (including Dame overpenetrating with no real chance to do anything productive), taking good shots and finishing them, and just making smart and aggressive plays to punish them for overplaying and leaving guys all alone for entire possessions, then everything changes. We will at least make them work for it.

Cool history, but I don't see how it's relevant.

Maybe the Blazers need to stop liking GSW. They hated OKC and learned to hate at least temporarily Denver but Dame always liked Warriors and obviously Seth must like them a bit. Hopefully they can get the edge they need.

I wanna see Seth getting into with Cook or someone. It would be interesting

Not expecting much tonight. If it's not a game by quarter 3, I'm turning it off.

Hope I'm wrong though. Go Blazers.
