What are some of your favorite western movies?

Here are some I enjoy watching:

Open Range

Broken Trail

Once Upon a Time in the West

The Unforgiven and 3:10 - Yuma, Dances with Wolves, Lonesome Dove, Jeremiah Johnson

google any Clint Walker, Glen Ford or Gary Cooper western and you'll get a pile of great westerns. Lee Marvin and Jack Palance and Yule Brenner were the best bad guys. I think it was Glen Ford in High Noon I saw for a quarter when I was a kid.

Butch Cassidy/Sundance is one of my all-time favorites.

Tombstone is a classic. Probably my favorite Val Kilmer film.

Magnificent 7 is great.

Lonesome Dove.

Open Range - you could literally skip 90% of the film and just watch the shootout and that's all you need. Amazing shootout.

Does City Slickers count?

The original Django with Franco Nero.

The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance

The Train Robbers

Support Your Local Sheriff

Support Your Local Gunfighter

Paint Your Wagon

Paleface

Blazing Saddles

The Frisco Kid (some of the best acting in a terrible movie ever!)

I remember really liking this when I saw it at the Seattle International Film Festival. But I saw 20+ movies in 3 weeks, so I don't remember it all that much. Time to go look for it on Netflix/Amazon/Hulu.

It's not a Western per se, but "The Horseman" is one of the greatest Afghan "Western"s ever (1971). Now, that's not saying a lot, the storyline is kinda garbage, but Jack Palance is an old buzkashi legend, his son Omar Sharif is trying to prove his manhood the whole time, and surpising couple of boob-seconds from Leigh Taylor-Young.
