I'll take mediocre next year IF we're on the upswing. If we have a handful of players that might improve as they get more experience.

The team coming in this year had very little potential to improve although it demonstrated that there was lots of potential to take big steps back.

I don't expect Flynn to make leaps and bounds, but he has an opportunity to put it all out there and show us any possible glimpses into his abilities.

He has struggled with injuries, and come back too soon (anyone active ever had a hip problem, you REALLY understand what I'm talking about). I, for one, am curious to see what, if anything, he has to offer.

I don't know ... but I'll take the uncertainty these moves represent over the certainty that the team was going to languish in mediocrity (or worse?) if they didn't do something bold.
