Rumors are going around that Boogie could be available this summer. Portland has nobody that can score in the paint consistently. LA probably could but he refuses to put his body through that and he has value as a floor spacer.

Lets face it Lopez post hand injury was just not the same player, his rebounding suffered and his interior scoring went down as well. We need a guy who can go inside and score the tough baskets, we need a guy who can be a 3rd scorer. Boogie is a solid defender and has matured in the last couple of years. Considering we have likely no shot at Gasol and the rest of the best FA's outside our own are restricted why not make a splash in the trade market.

Can we get Cousins? If we could would you want him?

Uh, yes.

Make Fez's dream come true.

Not likely unless they REALLY like CJ and Meyers.

He'd be a take, if you could find a way to pull it off.

How many of you who want cousins are D Howard haters?

It would probably have to be some sort of deal where we send out Batum, CJ, Meyers, and our pick this year. I'd definitely consider it. Boogie is under contract for three more season; I don't think the Kings are ready to trade him yet but if they again struggle maybe next summer.

Thats a package I'd also consider sending to the Knicks if they got the #1 pick. But first to get LaMarcus to come back I don't think we can trade for a rookie.

I would absolutely love Boogie here in Portland. I know he could be a knucklehead, but him and Aldridge would be dynamic.

You would get rid of that great promising young talent for a knucklehead who could come in here and decide he'd rather play to get his, or not play at all.

I would definitely not give up Leonard or CJ. I can give up one, but both and Batum is too steep, IMO

I don't think they'd work as well as you'd think. I don't think cousins would like to be LAs brick catcher(let's be honest, he throws up a lot of bad shots)/2nd post option. Add in Dame and Batum... There is only one ball. It just wouldn't work, now if we could sway cousins for LA we get significantly better IMHO. He is an absolute monster down low. He and Dame would be the best 1-2 punch in the West.

We are talking about arguably the best Center in the NBA and at worst the 3rd best. For 2 young players who had a few good playoff games. A core of Lillard, Aldridge and Boogie is fierce. IMO if you have a chance to get a dynamic player like Boogie who is just 24 you do it, especially if it can be done without giving up one of your current All-Stars.

San Antonio built a dynasty keeping guys like that on the bench, and having a core starting unit that plays well together. I'd like to avoid getting rid of any of our promising young talent, that means CJ, Leonard, Frazier, Crabbe.

CJ has shown he can be a reliable option on offense and can get his own shot in playoff minutes vs one of the leagues best defenses. Its not just "a few good playoff games".

Look considering how many bad shots LA and Lillard took this year we should have plenty to give to Boogie. Take Kamans, 7.4 Lopez 7.4 and a couple bad shots each from LA and Dame and bam you found your 18 shots to give to Boogie.

It's more than just 2 young players. It's that and Batum.

I think he is tired of losing and wants to win, and if he wants to win then he would be willing to play with one of the best PF's in the game. If he doesn't want to win, then we should stay clear of him.

He is also 24... Entering his prime. Gotta see from his point of view, he wants to be the man on a good team.

depending on what was given up for him, of course.

its all about the all stars, i want a big 5

Is he really that stupid? Maybe if he was playing for a contract, but he isn't. He has already cashed in. And he will continue to cash in if he wins. My guess he is already at the stage of wanting to win championships. And that means surrounding himself with other all stars. He can ask Lebron for advise on that.

He had 3 good playoff games and 2 shitty ones. Let me see him do that with a healthy Conley he scored only 8 of his 26 points in game 3 with Conley on the court and most of those came while being guarded by Vince Carter. Udrih, Calathes and Carter were his primary defenders I am sorry if I don't swoon.

McCollum and Leonard can become good NBA players but Boogie is already a great one, the Spurs might be able to gamble on McCollum and Leonard fitting their system and adding depth we dont have that system so we need talent above all else.

Yeah he sucked in his first two EVER playoff games............Why would Conley he guarding CJ if Dame is on the floor?

Do we really want someone known as 'boogie'?

barfo

So I'm the only person who wants nothing to do with DeMarcus Cousins? Dude might be the most talented player in the NBA, but can't seem to put it together.

He also plays on a team that has no direction. He really hasn't been set up to succeed.

Because Tony Allen is Guarding Lillard

I could be wrong but I remember Conley guarding Dame the first 3 games. TA occasionally guarded CJ in games 4 and 5 and CJ still played well.

I get what yo are saying though, Conley and TA are probably the best defensive back court in the world. They make things very difficult. But then again aren't they kind of the exception? Most teams are not going to create that problem

I don't think he fits into what they are trying to do character wise and culturally here.

But if he plays with fire. I'm all for signing him up
