Wow, that is so cheap. Hickson = Faried...what was the point?

He got less than I expected, but I don't see him improving DEN all that much. They are strong at all his strengths already.
 
We should have kept him @5M instead of Freeland @3M.

Did we have a choice on Freeland? It's not like we were going to be able to trade him for a 2nd round pick? Nobody else wants him either.

That wasn't an option. Freeland's contract is guaranteed, while Hickson required a Q.O. to retain his rights.
 
Hickson wasn't a good fit. He's not a center and he wanted to start. Lopez might not put up the gaudy numbers next season, but he'll make a huge difference where it counts.... size and defense. I liked what Hickson did for us, and I think he definitely helped win us some games, but with Robinson and Lopez coming in, there wasn't any room for him.
 
Claver and Matthews could have subbed at SF, opening a PF spot instead of signing Dorell. Even with Wright, we still have 14 players. Hickson gives you more than $5M per year.

Karl's system will make him look great, except, where's Karl?

Good for JJ! But I don't get why Denver signed him, when they have Faried and Darrell Arthur already.

If we'd had the choice, we may have. Or else, we may have let both of them go. Probably the latter.

He can back him up and they won't miss a beat, very similar players. 5 mil is a bargain for a backup like JJ, as others have said, we're paying 3 mil for Joel freaking Freeland.

Will Hickson be content sitting behind Faried? I'm guessing he thinks he has a shot at starting, since Faried is so limited offensively and isn't a good defender. Hickson is a much more polished NBA PF.
