I am getting tired of the Rap that is coming out and want to switch more to hip hop because im sick of songs about nothing. I really like lupe's style and kanye and want more songs like theirs. What are some good Nas songs and some other good hip hop songs?

Saying that you don't like listening to rap and would like to listen to hip hop doesn't make sense. Hip hop is the culture consisting of four main elements. Rap is one of those (along with DJ'ing, B-Boy'ing, and tagging). Just thought I'd point that out.

As for songs you should check out, I think people already covered most of them. Listen to all of Illmatic, that is a must. He also has some great concept tracks like I Gave You Power (rapping from the perspective of a gun) and Rewind (raps a story from the end to the beginning). Then there's Black Girl Lost, Doo Rags, etc.

Definitely get all of Illmatic. It's a classic, and one of, if not the top hip hop album ever. I could listen to it front to back over and over again. Never gets old.

I'm not a huge fan of "I can", but he spits fire on every track.
 
Why not just go get the LPs?

People who don't listen to albums bother me. Thats the biggest damage the digital age has done to music.
