What can NY offer to Minny for Rubio that we can't?

I think you'd be singing a different tune if Rubio had been drafted by your team.

Um... OK.

The NBA is one of many worldwide leagues. They have no special rights to any player period.

My my my how quickly people forget...

Though I personally have ZERO opinion on Ricky voicing his displeasure about playing in Portland, need I remind everyone that Kobe Bryant and John Elway, 2 of the best professional athletes in American HISTORY both did the very same thing?

Roger Clemens has done it, Steve Francis (sucks now but former all-star), Jim Kelly and PLENTY of others have done this.

Perhaps it is a bit whiny, doesn't exactly scream easy going but this is business, this is real life... as they say "this is show BUSINESS not show FRIENDS". The fact is that Ricky has ALL the leverage and David Kahn tried to get cute. All he did was dig himself a hole that seems to quickly be getting deeper and deeper.
When did Rubio say he didn't want to play in Portland? Can you provide a link for that?

I wonder if Golden State did a classic Pritchslap on Minnesota and New York. If Curry fell to NY, then he could've been included in a package for Rubio and Minny might have considered it (although their backcourt would still be tiny). But they don't need Jordan Hill. Maybe GState knew that. We all thought Curry was headed to Phoenix, but apparently not so.

Adding a player like Isiah Magic Tiny StocktonMaravich would be awesome. You can't have enough guys that have never played in the NBA and his own teammate, Rudy, said wasn't ready.

I wouldn't. I'd be disappointed, but I wouldn't be calling him a jerk for exercising some legal leverage he possesses.

I can't think of a better reason for calling someone a jerk. Almost every time a person exercises their "legal rights", they are viewed as a jerk to someone.

If Rubio were as good as everyone says, it wouldn't matter which team he goes to. He supposedly would make them instant champions. Jordan didn't bitch when the worst team in the NBA drafted him.

Could it be because Jordan did not have to pay $5.5m for the honor of playing for Chicago?

Yea this is kind of like the "Lebron going to NY" rumors. Why the fuck would Lebron want to play on that pile of shit team? He wants to win it all, not spend his whole career carrying a shitty team to the playoffs and losing.

Lebron plays on a pile of shit team now, and they had the best record in the league.

Eli Manning refused to play in San Diego, and forced a trade. Of course, the Giants went on to win the superbowl, but there's a good chance the Chargers would've won one with him as the starter..and he'd live a much nicer city (weather wise).

Plus, have you seen the women in San Diego?

If you exercise your legal rights to quit your job and go somewhere else, perhaps your boss would view you as a jerk, but probably not if he or she is mature.

Not wanting to live and play in Minnesota and preferring to live and play elsewhere is a perfectly reasonable desire. People decide where they want to live and work all the time. It's certainly a good reason for immature people to consider him a jerk.
