im about to start taking classes at the University of Minnesota as soon as the school year starts up

I'm only 14 now, but I'm already thinking about this, I don't want to stay in Ireland and go to college or University here, I really want to go to college in the US, Ie heard of a few people doing it, I need to discuss it with a few people in school...The downside would be being such a long way away from family and friends etc.I would prefer to go to a college in California or something along the west coast.

You can't go to Montana State. :dunno: Stanford seems like the perfect school to me, academics and good sports. Too bad I wouldn't be accepted and I love ASU.

sports teams should have nothing to do with it, unless you're planning on joining the team. You shouldn't sacrifice going to a better school bc another one has a better basketball team. That's just stupid.

College is all about women and getting drunk, so you should go to the best party school.Academics is probably the next most important thing, maybe.

I currently go to Florida International University. Honestly, I didn't really have any other choices, FIU was probably my #1 choice. Mainly cuz it's affordable and it's not a bad commute. (about a 45 min - 1 hour drive depending on traffic) Also it's not a bad school, I mean, it's pretty good at least for my major, they got one of the top business schools and plus, a lot of my friends are going there so it wasn't really a hard decision.

</div>It doesn't matter because 95% of us here won't be playing college sports. Anyone who thinks they are good enough most likely have no clue how good you have to be and how badly you want it.

I'll be on the college basketball team on a low key Canadian college :lol:Yeah, but seriously. You should definately choose education over sports because none of us here will be making a career out of playing sports. Lets just get that out of the way. So you should pick a college that suits the topic you want to pursue or your academic strengths.

I had a 4.0 GPA (out of 5.0) and barely missed being in the top 25% of my class (my class did have like 750 people though, no joke). Don't worry though... the colleges also look at how competitive your high school was, so as long as you keep your GPA about where it is, you should get in.By the way, just out of curiousity, which high school do you go to?</div>I go to a school called Boerne High School. Its a suberb near San Antonio. Put it this way, Boerne is in the top 10 best places to retire to in the world so you have basically no crime or any of that stuff which means you have rich familes which means you have smart kids...thats what conclusion i have come to. Yeah, i have a 3.8 out of a possible like 4.2 or something. My best friend has a 4.2 and he is number 3 in our class.

I live in Katy, which is a suburb of Houston, and it's pretty much the exact same thing. It was so damn boring over there... it was like the damn twilight zone to me because I'm from Queens.

I want to go to college out of this country. here they'll make me sign some paper making me elegible for some military service or whatever. no way. GO CANADA! actually my dream would be to go to a college in europe and then join the european bball league get more practice in 1 week than colleges here get in one month. then come to the nba... ha what a dream.

I hope you were joking. No one who posts on internet forums will be able to join the NBA.

Basketball players like watching and discussing the NBA on too, even if they are on a break after practice. I also hope he was joking, about that Canada thing.

I don't know the other schools there, if there are any. Most of the people I know from there think it's pretty boring...

The other schools here are pretty tight, but it the zoning was retarded. Like I live two minutes (walking) from this other high school but we were still zoned to go to Cinco Ranch.Cinco Ranch was so stupid when I was a freshman, but slowly me and my friends changed that... :beerchug: But overall this is one of the most boring places I've ever lived... especially since I moved here from New York.
