What do you realistically expect out of Will? What are your thoughts on his progress so far in summer league? What do you think he'll do next season? What do you think his ceiling is? Do you think he has a future with the team?

All things Will Barton.

I expect Will to be Blake's new Roy.

If Will could play with a little more control, I expect great things from him. I could see him being a super sub that can defend well and score in bunches. I don't really have a player I could compare him to, but he definitely has no fear.

I expect Will to either figure out how to use him athleticism to increase his FG% or ride the pine.
game 1: 4-11
game 2: 5-15

Still not sure he'll see a lot of minutes, but I expect we'll see him in the regular rotation. I imagine he'll be one of those guys who Stotts plugs in for a few minutes and if he's producing, will ride him while he's hot.

I like Will a lot, mostly because he attacks the basket and he creates chaos, but I think CJ is vastly more polished.

Yeah I have no clue either. Not sure where the minutes will come from unless there is an injury. I would not mind seeing him at the 3 if that helped him get minutes. He loves to run the baseline looking for openings. (And alley oops)

Yeah, he's one of the few guys who will actually get out on a break and attack. I wish Batum was a little bit more like him.

I expect him to change the pace of games for a few minutes at a time.
But more than that I expect that Stotts won't play him unless he has to.

I am really impressed with how much improvement Barton has shown so far in his career. He has earned a spot in the regular rotation IMO.

To be the peoples champion.

That's my favorite nickname of a complete no-name in the NBA. Because it's true. Wil Barton is a complete scrub, but every time he touches the ball you just know some crazy shit is going to happen. I'm 41, I've played a few rec league games, and if you somehow magically put my brain inside the insanely athletic Wil Barton body, you'd get the exact same results. Crazy, crazy shit that comes from far more "I wonder if this'll work?" than solid basketball fundamentals.

He's the people's champion. He's my champion. He's also probably out of the league in a year or so.

That was a bit harsh...

Anywho everytime Barton gets subbed in the PA should play "The Champ is here" by Jadakiss lol

I just hope that Barton has his "Tony Buckets" night before he's out of the league.

Less than I expect from CJ, but more than I expect from Leonard.

I would go absolutely apeshit if Wil went off for 53. Even in the summer league. It wouldn't change my opinion of him one iota, but I would still love it.

He's the people's champion.

I expect a lot out of him. He has Larry Hughes capability but with a better shot. He fills up each category of the stat sheet. I think he's going to surprise a lot of people here who still think he makes bad decisions.

When I think of Will the Thrill I can't but help compare him to Elliot Williams. Lot's of flash and potential, but don't think he is going to stick in the NBA.

I like Bartons game, he's a little bit of a risk taker but I don't mind that in the 2nd unit. He creates shots for himself and his teammates. He also puts a lot of pressure on the opposing teams 2nd unit because he pushes the ball up the court. Yesterdays game he should have had at least 3-4 more assist if guys would have either made shots or held on to his passes. He sees the court extremely well and he's able to finish around the rim even when he's bumped. I'm probably in the minority but I prefer him to Mo. Now that I think about it maybe Im not in the minority I think management believes in him and CJ, and that's why they let Mo go.

Barton will only get better with playing time. Yes he'll make lots of bone head mistakes but if coach allows him to play through these I think we will have a really good bench player.

I expect him to continue to be exactly what he is. I expect to see him in the game when the coach wants to shake things up, to infuse some energy or chaos, or if nothing else is working.

I thought nothing of him till the latter part of last season where he had some really good games. He can create his own shot, has good ball control, attacks the paint, and has shown some very deft passing ability. His no look pass to Freeland for the point blank jam was a thing of beauty.

He just needs to improve his shooting percentages. If he can cut back on the bad shots, and elevate his 3pt shooting to something decent, like even 33% he'll be a good reserve.

That's funny because Elliot Williams would have stuck if he didn't get injured 3 seasons in a row.

I dig the peoples champion!

I think he's a case of talent vs emotions. He has the talent to be ginobili-light, but his emotions keep him going a little wonkers, not knowing if he can cage his beast without the beast dying. I think the kid had a good mind too, it's not like Meyers who seems a bit slow in the noggin, Will just needs to learn how to balance what he wants to do with what he should do.

I predict games where fans proclaim him a superstar-in-training and other games where fans call for his head on a platter.
