Based on the reaction from the Timberwolves, Minnesota apparently thought it might have had a deal for Heat forward Michael Beasley on draft night.

The Heat had been linked to Timberwolves forward Ryan Gomes, who could have been bought out for $1 million next season, presenting the Heat with an additional $4 million in salary-cap space. Gomes instead was traded by the Timberwolves to the Trail Blazers, who now are expected to execute that cap-saving buyout.

"In some cases, even small amounts of money, teams literally don't want to cover the number," Timberwolves President David Kahn told the Star-Tribune of apparent Heat reluctance. "Some teams are moving things left and right to create these enormous canyons of room. You'd think it's not that much, but you'd be surprised how these teams have reacted."

It means the Twolves wanted Beasley for Gomes, but the Heat wouldn't do it.

According to Miller, we are going to waive him. Not sure why Miller would have said that if it wasn't true, disappointing as it is.

Yeah, but wouldn't they just waive Gomes like Portland apparently is gonna do? It would clear up even more cap space for them.

They also don't need to deal him now because they already have enough cap room for 3 max guys
