It seems like it's been bothering him most of the season. I can't ever remember spraining my wrist and then having it bother me more than a couple weeks max. Is there something more serious here? Should we sit him for a week or so?

Our medical staff doesn't instill a great deal of confidence in me regarding how to treat this injury.

I'm just an armchair guy who had a broken wrist, but I think they should sit him. Whatever gains we have now would be overshadowed by another Brandon Roy situation.

just because the initial MRI was negative does not maen there is not a significant problem, be nice to get a diagnosis, has he even seen a specialist?

yes it's called "make or break a SECOND near max contract player's career"

Don't know much about the injury, is a sprained wrist more likely to suffer permanent damage if you play with it? If so, then they should sit him. I thought he was just playing through some discomfort that is effecting his shot.

The answer is no. It just takes longer to heal. Do you ever see Kobe get a worse injury by playing through his aches and pains? Batum will have a week to rest it, during the all star break.

Exactly, it's simply a nagging injury that takes time to heal, especially when being used so much.

Do we even know that it's a sprain?

I just hope whatever injury he has, doesn't become a chronic problem because he's not getting enough rest for it now. Frankly, he's not having much of an impact out there right now anyway (or it's very sporadic) so I say shut him down and get him healthy for a stretch run.

This is the reason spoken more truly than me.

...he just needs to drink more milk!
Batum feels pain along the right side of his wrist, on the top of his hand near the edge. It aches every time he shoots. So much so that he's attempted seven or fewer shots in four of the past five games. In the second half of the Blazers' win over the Timberwolves, Batum found himself wide open behind the three-point line - without a Minnesota defender anywhere near him - and hesitated for what felt like an eternity before begrudgingly heaving a brick.

“I have to fight through it, I have to play through it,” Batum said. “Especially with the next two or three games we have coming up. I can’t really miss games. I have to keep playing.”

Nicolas Batum's right wrist is not right

Batum is having pretty much every symptom I had when I developed Tendinitis. Hope its not that.

Maybe he was working in some underground mines in France after the Olympics....... maybe he has that Copper Tunnel Syndrome?

Good news! This is just the season-ending excuse we need to keep our draft pick!

*Bump* What the HELL is wrong with Batum's wrist???

Do the Blazers have no "wrist expertise" on their medical staff? This is ridiculous!

It was really bad to watch. He clearly is in a lot of pain out there. He was holding his wrist almost the entire game.

I don't know why they keep him out there? Maybe once claver is ready, they should just start him over batum and let him heal. It only helps our lotto chances anyway.

If you don't stop playing it doesn't heal fully, making it more susceptible to further aggrevation, it's a vicious cycle.

Time to shut him down, what would POP do?

I tried taking a picture of him holding his wrist. It was the norm the entire game. I was really feeling sorry for him. It's also effecting his game on the defensive end. He was trying to use his off hand the entire game to alter shots.

He is really favoring that wrist.
