No. The excess gets distributed amongst the team evenly. We have until the end of season (maybe trade deadline?) To reach the minimum

Hell no.
I was a huge fan & proponent of drafting KJ as a late 1st/early 2nd round pick. At most he is worth $2M a year.
These people who want to sign him to a MLE (or above) contract are ludicrous.

I didn't say it was right. That being said, with the cap jumping like it did, it says that the NBA brand is healthy and people are already spending a lot of money on the NBA and their products.

Perhaps moreso than expected.
