OT What has really been going on with Markelle Fultz?

Crowd is going crazy for him, cheers whenever he touches the ball.

His shot is still very weird. Just shot a mid range jumper

Want to see him start hitting jumpers. The kid is probably nervous as hell. Rooting for him.

Setting it at 2000 minutes, I get 5 players. (Take out Ben Wallace, and 200-pound Lorenzo Williams because that season he played center for the injured Tarpley, but include Dale Davis who was a forward alongside Rik Smits).

Set it at 2600 minutes and you're right.

It shouldn't be based on minutes. It should be based on the official qualifying standards dictated by the league, or at the very least, some variation of either FT attempted or FT made. Some guys just don't draw a lot of fouls, no matter how many minutes they play.

That looked like how his shot was in college, he just hesitated, likely because of nerves.
Possibly nerves, would have to see it again, it looked like the form he has been filmed recently with in practice. Has a hitch

I hope he overcomes this and lives up to his potential. It's hard to consider a guy who was the No. 1 pick in the draft an underdog, but given what he's gone through, he definitely qualifies.

BTW, concerning Ball's FT shooting - he is currently on pace to have the worst FT% of any non-center in the entire 70+ year history of the NBA. He is currently at .449 FT%. The only players who have ever shot worse from the FT line are:

DeAndre Jordan
Ben Wallace
Wilt Chamberlain
Andre Drummond

.449 is hideous for anyone, but especially for a guard. Not even Shaq (career worst .464) or Dwight Howard (career worst .489), two big men that were often targeted for hacking due to their poor FT shooting, were ever that bad.

BTW, you've heard of the 50/40/90 club. Ball, at .352/.302/.449 is on the verge of creating his own new, exclusive 35/30/45 club. In the entire history of the NBA, no one has ever had a worse shooting season than Lonzo ball is currently having, and it's surprisingly not even close. Ben Wallace, not known for his shooting touch, comes closest at .463/.116/.428 and even then, he shot over 10 percentage points higher from the field than Ball is.

Is this what @HCP was referring to when he said he thought Ball would be a "special player"?

I think my question is. Do his brothers have the same broken ass form?

His shot always had a small hitch.

How is that not a shooting foul?

Fultz with the smart move. Should have 3 FTs.

Neither of these teams know how to play defense.

Fultz is used to shooting over everyone, which he could do at the college level. Can't exactly do this at this level. Have to remember this is what... his 5th NBA game? Next year will essentially still be his rookie season.

I don't know. My cable package doesn't include NBC Sports Lithuania.

Crazy how the league has changed just in 10 years. Embiid out here getting three free throws getting fouled from deep but he drew his defender into him was the great part

Yes, but the parameters you later showed would be way to complicated for a poster here to do a search. I thought you had done a search, since you hadn't cited a source.

I used the basketball-reference play index player season finder. They gave you the option to choose a qualifying standard. So, they do the heavy lifting for you.

In spite of all your neat math up there, he is averaging ......10/7/7/2
I'll take that every game from my 19 year old rookie PG who can't shoot.
