An efficient 23 & 5 is all-star tier to me. Give him his own team and he's getting 26 & 6 and would be an all-star in the east.1. Olshey cannot ignore Lillard's statements and what has been "leaked" on Lillard's behalf -- Lillard wants the chance to "compete" and doesn't believe the roster can do that. Lillard took crap for saying he only wanted to play in the bubble if the Blazers could at least compete for a playoff spot. He didn't back off that. He won't back off his current stance. He's not talking about guys improving like post-New Orleans debacle. It doesn't matter if Olshey thinks the roster isn't the problem. It's Lillard's team.
2. A big trade has to happen ... CJ. Maybe Nurkic, too. But it's a CJ problem. A tier below all star ... a number 3? on a team. A 2 depending on the 1. Ignore Lillard, and it will be too late ... maximum value goes away. Dame would be gone. Trading CJ is a forgone conclusion IMHO; Olshey has to get it done but is playing the game to get the best deal.
3. Tobias Harris? Not a problem child for Philly, so I expect him to stay. Simmons gets traded. Siakam chatter is pretty serious and goes back a little bit. Siakam has more of a chance to stay in Toronto. Their GM re-upped means he has the power and Siakam doesn't have leverage, but Getting Simmons would be a great get for Toronto.
I understand the pessimism and the criticism of Olshey. But the current situation is THE tipping point. I hope the trade is done within a couple weeks.
I just don't think CJ's value takes that much selling to Morey. CJ is such an obvious fit with Embiid, Harris and all of their wing defenders. They need a lead guard that can get buckets and distribute the ball but the bucket getting part is the biggest deal. When people were talking about Beal being on the market I thought that was a concern because he could be as good of a fit as CJ but Beal isn't going anywhere so... CJ is their guy.An efficient 23 & 5 is all-star tier to me. Give him his own team and he's getting 26 & 6 and would be an all-star in the east.
At least, that's how Olshey has to sell it.
No. I think it would have been better if you had said: "The biggest movement Olshey is going to make is Bowel."The biggest move Olshey is going to make is Bowel.
(Did I do that right?)

Move - Beasley gets signed for the season
When - After we win Summer League
That would be nice.6’6 Cj2 might surprise some people this season.

I don’t think they should. They won’t be good, and they just drafted a big in Mobley—I think keeping Love on the roster would be beneficial for him. Love just standing at the 3 will help Mobley just by taking some attention off him. With Kemba bought out, I can see Neil waiting to see if the same will happen with Love in Cleveland.
He wouldn’t get minutes on the Lakers so that wouldn’t improve his HOF chances.I don’t think they should. I also don’t even know if he would sign with us off a buyout. Kevin Love isn’t a HOFer yet. I see him trying to get a second ring with the Lakers if a buyout ever happened.
Lol silly goose. He wouldn’t get minutes on the Lakers so that wouldn’t improve his HOF chances.
Behind LeBron, Davis, and Melo.Lol silly goose.
If he can play he’s getting minutes..
Knowing Olshey has to improve our team doesn't make it so other GMs don't have to give fair value for our assets. It gives the other GMs leverage so that a guy like Olshey can no longer try to get over on them. They just know that we're open for business. The idea that Dame might ask out could however, have these GMs holding out for him. Olshey just has to be firm that if they have a need for a guy like CJ and won't do business with us that they'll never have a chance at Dame.It doesn’t help when GM’s around the league know that Olshey is desperate. I mean his all world guard basically said put better talent around me or I want out.
He’s shown his hand essentially. He’s going to get pennies on the dollar for what he could’ve gotten a couple years ago for CJ.
Ya know like maybe after that Pelicans series when he could’ve probably traded CJ for a legit star caliber player.
