I heard dumbass Drury wanted to go big game hunting which we all know as he freed up salary with Kreider and Trouba. Unfortunately for him, Kaprizov stayed in Minnesota as they offered him moronic money. McDavid gave Edmonton a 2 year discount and they still have no goaltending. Jarry ain't it. A couple of dumbasses extended also. So his plan failed. He's far too fucking stupid to do the right thing now which is a total rebuild. So, if he had any brains at all he would do the following.

First, get Panarin to agree to a trade at the deadline. By then the Rangers should be out of it. Tell him you want to bring him back 3 y, 27 million. He should take that. He's still worth that. Countless morons around the league get close to that and they suck. What you go for is close to NHL ready young players or a young player in the league now that has a high ceiling but hasn't broken out yet. A center should surely be among the return. No picks in return. Young players. Second, you either release, trade or send Sheary, Brodinsky and Raddysh to the minors. They add nothing to this team and are taking up sports for young players. Third, bring up Roobroeck, Othmann and Perreault. You fucking play them every game, the rest of the season. Try to find some chemistry with Lafreniere with some of those guys. His best hockey came when he wasn't playing with overpaid vets. Fourth, trade Soucy for picks who is actually playing well and will have good playoff value. Trade Edstrom for a pick who has value. I like Roobroeck better and Edstrom is brittle for a big guy. You trade Brodinsky for a pick who has some value. Believe it or not, he would be a better option on a playoff team on their fourth line than some of those teams have. He's a pro also. Fifth, you sit Zibanejad down and simply tell him, we are going with kids. You aren't going to play here. So basically, you're going to be a healthy scratch every game or accept a trade. It will get ugly if he lets it but I don't think he will sit. Then take this shit team from there.

Even if we have to eat $3m per year to move him it's worth it with the cap rising, it's just a matter of which team would take him. Maybe a playoff team like LA would, and he can continue his DJ thing or whatever. SJ will be a playoff team soon if not this year and could use a vet.

Drury has no plan, that is very clear. The guy is in over his head and has absolutely no clue what he is doing. NO PLAN!!!

And BTW, NO SHOT Panarin is taking a 3-year deal worth $27M, 0% chance he takes that little for that short of a time period.

Panarin is the least of my concerns because he will be dealt before the trade DL, even Drury is smart enough to figure that one out. In addition, worst case his money will be gone, and he will not be back, thus opening up a lot of cap space this coming summer (Soucy's ridiculous $3.25M will also be gone by the trade DL/after the season).

It's about Zibanejad, Fox, Lafreniere, does Drury have the balls/creativity to move any of them, especially Zibanejad and Fox!!!

Wrong as usual. Panarin absolutely will take a 3 year deal worth 27 million. He will be 35 at the start of next season. Nobody is giving him a long term deal. He might get 4 but he won't want to leave NY. Even during a rebuild. He loves it here. He got low balled on the money by Drury this summer. 27 million for a 35 year old player is a ton. He'll easily accept that.

I say no shot he takes a deal for that short of time AND that little money. We'll find out in July. I think it won't even be a question.

On top of that, do I really want to tie up $9M, $10M, $11M, whatever it takes to bring Panarin back, for what goal? The team isn't winning a Cup, and he is just about useless in the playoffs anyway. I think he was a very good signing and has played well as a Ranger overall (in spite of his disappearing in the playoffs - he's a huge reason they got there to begin with), kudos to him, but it's time to part ways with Mr. Panarin.

If he decides to take a shorter deal, which is possible, he'll get more than $9M per IMO.

Didn't take long but Chuck is on ignore again. I suddenly saw how clueless he was again.

Panarin needs to be off the team. There is absolutely no reason to keep him around for another 3 or 4 years. I enjoyed watching him play for the most part of his first 4 years. I don’t have anything against the guy but they kinda fucked up the rebuild by signing him.

Also don’t you want a full rebuild? Why would you want Panarin to be around the rebuild lol

You shouldn't rebuild with all young players. You risk screwing them up. I would keep Trochek and Panarin. Move Miller and Zibanejad. Provided they can get a young, NHL ready center back in a deal. Moving Panarin for a big return and bringing him back makes sense. He actually makes other players better. Miller and Zibanejad don't. I thought about keeping Miller but I'm not liking what I'm seeing with him.

If you can keep Panarin for a great short-term deal, sure why not, no team will ever have all young kids, which would be counterproductive anyway as you need some vet leaders to show them the way. With that said, I for one do not see Panarin taking a max 3-year deal for a number that is less than $10M per, so I doubt Panarin is that guy.

Either way, he must be traded before the trade DL, even if the return is only a modest one since Panarin can pretty much dictate where he goes. I'm confident Panarin will accept a trade somewhere as I highly doubt he'll want to miss the playoffs again on this crap team.

The values of the trade deadline this year are gonna be massive. If you go and look at all the contending teams throughout the league almost none of them have any depth in scoring. They’re all top-heavy. It's part of the reason Florida has been so dominant the previous 2 years. They have 5 players in double digit goals this season and they haven't had Tkachuk or Barkov for one game.

Imbecile Drury needs to tell his asswipe head coach to develop Perreault and Othmann every game the rest of the season. Trochek as reported last year, would bring back a massive return. I think moving him would be unwise for the rebuild that obviously is needed. He should be the captain. Zibanedouche needs to go but he's such a dickhead it won't be easy. Well, you see what happens to the PP when Fox isn't there. I guess if you want to develop young players on the PP, you need him around on that unit. Unless, you can get back a PP whiz defenseman prospect in return. Guy I want is Yakemchuk from Ottawa. Sanderson is not a true PP QB. Ottawa needs to stop being half ass and start making the playoffs every year. I don't know why but I'm starting to think Fox would accept a deal to get out of here. Pinto, Yakemchuk and a first for Fox and maybe Carrick would go a long way towards rebuilding.

These Rangers with NMC's. They better wake up because it's going to get fucking ugly with the fans around here real soon. When that happens in NY, it's no longer fun playing here.

There’s nothing to do in season to save anything. It’s an obvious lost season as there’s no depth and the guys they do have bring no effort.

Yep. These players really haven't experienced the misery and hostility of a Rangers fan base turning against them. Last year was a tick turd of misery compared to what they are about to receive. Our best chance at a full rebuild and dumping moron Drury is actually the anger of the fan base. Arena was incredibly empty last game for the Garden. That needs to continue. I would not spend one cent to see the Rangers at the garden this year unless some youth was brought in via deals and Perreault was on the first PP unit all the time and he and Othmann were both getting 18 minutes a night. If they rebuild, fucking Dolan better cut ticket prices a lot. It's nothing but pure bullshit that owners don't cut prices when teams rebuild and they know the team will suck. I hate that. Rangers tickets were too expensive when the team was good. The product sucks moose dick now. It's a shitty investment. Only dumbasses who are non season ticket holders would pay to see this pile of shit team.

Dolan is not cutting shit. He does not give a fuck about winning titles or fans. As long as the garden is sold out and the rangers bring in revenue. That’s all he cares about. He will never say yes to a full rebuild.

The only way things might change if they suck so bad that he fires Drury. Like I said before, being a mid team is the worst possible thing in hockey. You either have to be really really good or really really bad. Can’t have a mid team and expect to win anything. Being really bad forces you to have a full rebuild and stockpile your farm system with top talent

He could sell out, but if the arena looks half them every time it will bother him. He’s an ego maniac.

And face it MSG is all about the Knicks right now. Total different directions the two franchises went.

To your point Step, last night was a perfect example of how the Rangers are a mid-team, and it is the worst place to be. They have just enough "talent" to be ahead of the worst teams, but nowhere near enough talent to be close to the good or even halfway decent teams, let alone the great teams. It is truly terrible.

The team stinks and is impossible to watch, but they won't get a top 5 pick because they'll get just enough points to stay ahead of the worst teams in the NHL.

Awful!!!

Agreed, if save the season means a legit contender. If you look at saving the season differently, meaning sell like crazy to get the best pick possible, then I think they can "save the season". It's why right now, this second, Drury should be looking to sell everything he possibly can.

That's what a good Pres/GM with a plan would do though, so we can very confidently say Drury is most likely doing the exact opposite unfortunately.

Yup, the worst spot to be in quite frankly.

I have no interest in the 5’11 center who is not that good. If you trade Panarin, you get back at at least a first round pick, maybe second round pick in either a close to NHL ready center with some size or a power forward wing prospect.

Only fit for a Panarin trade I see is Detroit. Take back Tarasenko’s contract. Ufa next season. Get back a first and Michael Branden’s-Nygard. Proper rental value. Still say Panarin will take 3 y 27 million to come back. He loves NY.

Yeah, definitely a late 1st/early 2nd with whoever else they get. I agree on Bourque, they should aim for maybe a slightly higher ceiling guy. Detroit or maybe Chicago/SJ could be options.

I still think the Rangers will make the playoffs and that's where Sullivan's experience should help., Sullivan is still trying to fully evaluate what he has and to his credit he's played many of the young players, some like Laba have flourished while others like Berard and Othmann have done nothing. Neither seem hungry enough to me to merit automatic ice time. The PP was 17th in the NHL now they're 18th and Morrow is getting PP experience. No reason to drop off the wagon yet, we're not even at midseason.

Putting Othmann on the 4th line is fn moronic. He’s a goal scorer. He’s not a role-playing talent. Rangers are clueless developing most of their forwards. Othmann will get dealt. Hayton is being misused this year by Utah. The time to swoop in and steal him is now. Probably could offer Othmann and Edstrom and get it done. This is exactly the kind of player Drury fucking blows it on.

Othmann hasn't scored a goal in 30 NHL games, calling him a goal scorer may be a stretch at this time but when he gets the opportunity to play he needs to make an impact otherwise 4th line minutes and a trade are in his future where he fades into oblivion like so many other Rangers first round busts. The question is why do the Rangers suck at drafting especially with their top picks? This isn't some new phenomena, the Rangers have sucked at drafting forever because they have a terrible scouting system full of old school dopes looking for the next 5'8" Gretzky while passing on taking a look at any player over 6"2" and 210 pounds. I'd be interested in hearing what the Rangers scouts said about Stutzle and why they should stick with Laf or who thought medal chucker, Krapstov, Lundshits and Krappo were worthy of wasting a first rounder? The Rangers best picks usually come later in the draft, Laba was a 4th rounder and he already is playing better than any of the higher picks in the system.

I believe Othmann should be on the 3rd line either way, but especially with Miller out. If I were to project Othmann's ceiling, it would be a 3rd line forward. I don't get playing him on the 4th line instead of the 3rd line, but I'm not going to flip out over it.

Miller's injury provides an opportunity for Othmann, who was drafted in '21 with pick 16 and holds his NHL future in his own hands but clearly this guy was nowhere near NHL ready. Same year Dallas picks #23 and gets Wyatt Johnston who has crushed it, what made the Rangers scouts pass on him for Othmann? I have to think the Rangers organization spends top dollar on scouting but gets rock bottom evaluation, when Drury was hired he said he was going to emphasize grit and many of his draft picks are larger than any Rangers GM ever picked. Drury is an improvement over Gorton, may not be saying much but Chris drafts and trades better has also made some solid free agent signings. We'll see what happens with Panarin, he's not the problem, half the team needs to step up their game.
