What is up with Boston??

3 straight for Boston now. All of a sudden they don't seem as intimidating as they were only a few weeks ago.

I'm sure they'll regroup, but this is getting rediculous. The Blazers have had some pretty bad stretches of basketball this season, but they haven't lost 6 out 8 at any point.

You know, it would be nice to lose 6 of 8 and STILL be 29-8 though (and in 1st place by 10 games) I think Cleveland and Orlando will hit some dry spells too.

I'll tell you what this does do though, it makes the Lakers look like the team to beat. 2 weeks ago I would have said the C's.

Why doesn't anyone consider the Magic a contender this season? Honest question. They've played as well as anyone.

You want me to post a video of KG intimidating someone. Number one, it happens very frequently, and number two, its rarely notable. Its rare that anything comes of it. So I doubt there's many videos out there, if any.
thats not what he asked you to find, smart one.

One thing to remember with Boston, is they had one of the easiest schedules in the league to a certain point. Then they went west. Welcome to the west. Where you never know when even a Golden State or Sacramento might rise up and bite you in the ass on a given night. :devilwink:

Yeah you've got to think about what the Celtics record would be if they had to play the Lakers, Jazz, Hornets, Mavs and then Denver in a 14 day period?

West isn't that hard. Bulls are 8-6 out West!

Boston's falling apart. Teams are starting to realize if they just play Boston tough, and roughen up Garnett, that Garnett wilts.

Oh, btw, I found a video of Garnett doing his act on a player his own size.

But they lost to New York and Charlotte too!

MAN THE FUCK UP.

Oh my god!!! He TAUNTED me!!!

If anything, the altercations get the NBA increased publicity. It certainly didn't hurt in the 80s, when the NBA was at its peak in popularity.

It did kind of hurt in Auburn Hills, or in PHX when Stoudamire and Diaw came off the bench against the Spurs, or Carmelo got suspended along with half the Knicks for a few games for swinging-then-running...I think you'll find it hard to equate 1985 basketball with 2009. And that's on Stern. He didn't want Kermit Washington or Mo Lucas situations happening anymore, so the rules got clamped down on. It's just that I think many in this thread think the rules haven't been applied to KG. :dunno:

Since I'm positive you watch more Celtics games than I do, do you know how many times has KG had a taunting tech in the last 2 years? I imagine it's close to zero, but I don't know. in the games against the Blazers this year I've seen a minimum of two calls that should have been made.

So they lay that at KG's door?

Maybe one.

I do. I think they're just as strong a team as Cleveland.

I think it goes...

Cleveland
Boston

Orlando

Atlanta
Detroit

Miami
New Jersey

The rest

What's odd is that Boston is pretty healthy. The Blazers, Nuggets, Rockets (who could not beat anyone at all until last night), Pistons, Jazz all have had major players out. The Celtics pretty much have their team intact. Clearly something got into their heads. And there is also the fact that a few losses, especially to crappy teams, removes the intimidation factor. When you have a really dominating team the opponent expects to lose. Teams no longer expect to lose to the Celtics.
