selling an arena without a professional sports team as one of it's major tenements? Yeah, that's gonna get a lot of money.

Have you seen the new Park MGM project in Vegas? Its the focus of MGM right now.

Adding an NBA sports franchise there will increase the visibility of T-Mobile arena as the premiere sports venue on earth. They will lose 2 fold in the Moda Center but gain ten fold at T-Mobile arena.

I just don't see who would keep the team in Portland unless local guys pool together. Even then, any corporate interest would outbid them.

A bay area tech guy may keep them in Portland. Maybe a few Hollywood guys will too. Phil Knight would be great.

I don’t want them to move, but if it’s between Seattle and Vegas I would vote for Vegas. Basically the Trailblazers would be done and we would become the Sonics, complete with Green and Piss unis in Seattle......no thx.

Plus I’m a Raiders Fan(that’s tough to say these days) so it would be cool to have 2/3 of my professional sports teams in one city.

Very well stated. Tortured Raiders fan here as well so that wouldn't hurt, but I don't want the Blazers to be any part of Seattle because the I can't be a fan of them anymore. If they were in Vegas, I would still follow them.

(However, I'm not going to let that happen)

In terms of being proactive, what things would you like to see in terms of things we keep and things that we change?
TBC ownership group @Chris Craig (and who was the guy putting in his $15?)

What about Timothy Boyle He’d probably need a couple others but he’s worth like a couple billion?

Certainly his family is philanthropic like the Paul G Allen foundation. Gert made a very generous contribution to our efforts at Doernbecher to raise $500,000,000 to match the Grant offered by Phil and Penny Knight. She was instrumental in helping us reach our goal.

Maybe the Seahawks will be sold to Leiwike (his brother was COO of the NFL up to this year) and the Blazers to MGM Resorts.

Seattle doesn't have an NBA arena now but Vegas does and its state of the art.

Great fan support, stadium included in the buying of a team, the team is in great financial shape and turning legitimate profit and has very high local viewership due to a lack of sporting competition and due to the lack of things to do compared to places like Vegas... It doesn't even make financial sense to move the team elsewhere...

It takes two parties to create a buyout.

And the NBA would likely have some say, so make that three parties... It'd be extremely complicated.

No, you pay the amount listed in the agreement, $40 million, and walk away. That's the buyout. The buyout was created when the agreement was originally written and agreed upon. It only becomes mildly complicated if the new owners decided to take it to court or mediation.

I'm talking about in Portland.

Give it up, they aren't moving to Vegas. I know you get a huge boner for acting all edgy and going against the grain.
