Every team needs a backup backup center. If he never plays, then we had great frontcourt health all year. If we have a spate of injuries, he'll see time, and will provide value.

I'm not going to shed a tear if he is included in a mid-season trade, but I'm certainly not hoping for him to be cut. If the only consternation he causes is not playing well during garbage time, then we don't really have much to complain about.

Regardless of liking him, or hating him, or not caring enough to have 50 threads about him.......from a luxury tax standpoint his 10 million is the one I would try to move...over all the other 13 contracts. This is purely based on the amount of the contract and his future position on the depth chart. If it were not for the repeat offender rule, I would not care one way or the other. He is fine for a 3rd center on the team. Just not in our team salary scenario.

Something like O'Quinn's 4 mil ending contract is of course ideal. Or to a team who is hit with a season ending injury and needs a center who can shoot to help out. Not holding my breathe.

He will have his time where the Blazers need him and he will produce. He is the 14th roster spot on the end of the bench. This is about where he should be. But if Nurk goes down for a couple games. The Blazers will indeed use him when they need him. Trade him if possible sure.... But right now he is hurting nothing and might be the body they need at some point.

Yes, Stotts like Meyers and experience so much that, while Swanigan was in the regular rotation, Meyers wasn't even put into the game right away in the 4th while we led by 50pts.
Also we already have an open roster spot to "tryout potential players"

I don't think Stotts likes Meyers. He started Aminu at center rather than Meyers, and Meyers barely got any playing time last year even after we lost Vonleh, Davis and Nurk.

I really hope Olshey can shed his salary. I'd really like to use that money to retain Pat and Davis. We might have to do something similar as what we did with Crabbe, trade him for another bad contract that is half as bad, then waive and stretch. Not sure if there is some kind of limit to how much you can use that provision though.
