I apparently made the mistake of assuming people would understand that after 1 game, especially a blowout, quoting a per 36 was a joke since it's about as telling as 1 +/- in garbage time of a blowout.

The consistent knock on him over the years has been he looks lost or clueless out there.

He looked fine to me last night. Not lost out there.

Sure he was playing against scrubs on a bad team, but he did some smart things and scored 6 points in 10 1/2 minutes, drew fouls, and grabbed boards.

The announcers mentioned his smart plays a few times. Like recognizing a mismatch and going to the hole to score.

That said, if we can trade him for a $7M player who contributes, that would be fine.

Yes, Stotts like Meyers and experience so much that, while Swanigan was in the regular rotation, Meyers wasn't even put into the game right away in the 4th while we led by 50pts.
Also we already have an open roster spot to "tryout potential players"

mmm AFAIK Swanigan played PF next to Davis who played Center. Meyers only plays Center these days right?
Meyers should have had at least 60 DNPs last season, Stotts is probably one of the only few coaches in the league who would still give him the opportunity.

I know preseason doesn't mean that much, but the guy did average something like 18 pts/36, 11 reb/36 shooting like 70% from three. I would give him a few games to see what he does.

I am ready to move him though, primarily based on his defense. We have plenty of guys at the 4-5 who defend better than he likely ever will and I would rather they got the minutes.

My point is at what point does Meyer's roster spot become more valuable to expedite his trade. I guess it doesn't matter if Olshey rides the contract out and just takes the loss.

It doesn't hurt anything at all... How is a Meyers taking up the 14th roster spot hurting us when we have two more open??? There isn't 3 guys out there that will help our team contend for a championship...
