how soon can we expect half or full capacity available at the "rose garden" (50% capacity would be huge for the playoffs)

phila will have 50% capacity to start the playoffs and after june 11 there will be no restrictions

I have no problem penalizing people who do not get vaccinated (By not letting them into events at enclosed buildings) but this sounds like she will penalize everyone if they do not reach her specified goal. I have a problem with that. She needs to make exceptions. Still pissed about the spring game at Autzen.

The whole approach is nonsensical. Why are county infection rates unimportant when 70% of people are vaccinated? Doesn't that make those same thresholds meaningless now?

Rural counties get their restrictions lifted when the rest of the state hits a high enough vax percentage, but their lower vax rate holds the rest of the state down until then. Uh...

If you wanted to really accomplish something, you would do away with rigid thresholds and look at vaccination (and/or infection) rates relative to population density variations, and apply restrictions accordingly.

I agree with Pinwheel, the overall message is the opposite of what they're trying to send, punishing the cooperative ones who have no influence on the holdouts.

From what I've read, Multnomah County is already at 63% vaccinated, and should be a shoo-in to reach the 65% threshold by next week and be moved to "lower" risk as of May 21.

Not sure how anyone sees this as the cooperative counties being punished.

2 more months of high risk to extreme risk for a Blazers game. Seems legit.

I just got my 2nd shot yesterday. I had 5g before it, I'm not microchipped, no Mark of the beast. What a letdown.

You may be right, if Multnomah leads the pack and hits lower restrictions before the other big counties, and before the state would hit the 70% no-restrictions if not for the smaller counties. All that matters is getting [more] fans in the stands by the start of the playoffs! That and minimizing deaths and business closings...

I think what bothers me most about the announcement is, it's basically an admission that the risk level roller coaster was a mistake. They're trying to side step to a new standard without addressing that issue, and it's not clear yet how the new standard will affect different parts of the state relative to each other.
