A little food for thought.

Here's what my colon looked like when they removed it:

But seriously, in general people are pretty ignorant about colon diseases. Never even knew what it was until I was near death and the surgeon said we need to remove your colon within 40 minutes, or you will die.

Crazy shit, better hope it never happens to you, your kids, or anyone you know for that matter.

Agreed, I know much more about it from reading your posts than I ever would have otherwise.

brands, etc. looking to get some.

Multivitamins? I don't really take them, probably should, I kind of eat terribly.

Anything else you guys take?

You ought to throw some exercise up in the mix too. Get a bike/unicycle/long board; something fun.

Performance Plus Multi Vitamin (Costco)
Vitamin D3 (NatureMade)
Vitamin C (NatureMade)
Calcium-Magnesium-Zinc (NatureMade)
Vitamin B - 100 Hi Energy Complex (Costco)
Melatonin (NatureMade)

This is all recommended by a Naturopathic Physician that used to work with my dad. I went in for a full blood workup and have actually gotten IVs of vitamins and minerals I was lacking.

Everyone should be taking a multivitamin but you should also take vitamin D.

I bought that performance plus multi vitamin from costco today

I take an Equate multivitamin & a Vitamin D pill (1000Iu). I didn't know this until about a month ago, but vitamin D isn't a vitamin, it's actually a hormone. With the fantastic gloomy weather coming for Portland, I decided I needed to start taking vitamin D to stay balanced.

Melelueca vitality six probiotic multivitamins
Simply put...it has all the shit you need in it. Best multi on the market. A giant handfull of pills in the am and pm, but I don't have to buy a bunch of other stuff and add to the mix of crap I take.

$100 a month for vitamins seems a bit steep. But if it really works well for ya, it's probably more than worth it.

I've been taking them since April and haven't paid a dime for any of them. Got them free from a friends brother. Holy crap...didn't know they were that spendy. Just looked at the website. If you sign up with them you can get them for about 70. When my supply runs out there is another less expensive Meleluca product I'm switching to since I don't need the heart component that these include. I think they are going to run me about forty bucks.

I checked out the website. The men's vitality pack is a 30 am/30pm pack for $143(on sale for $99)...Anyway, seems like a good product.

Is that seriously your colon or is that what an inflammed one looks like? Also, how does that compare to the size of a normal colon? If that was yours, you must have been in unimaginable pain. How did your colon not crush your other organs?

I've related your story to many of my friends and it's safe to say if you ever meet me and my friends, you won't have to buy a drink.

That isn't my colon, but thats what a colon that perforates with Toxic Megacolon looks like. Which is what I had. It didn't crush my other organs, but the holes in my colon caused me severe Sepsis and I was on deaths doorstep. I went from being in the best shape I'd ever been in a week before, to a guy who's doctor told him his colon needs to be removed in 45 minutes, or I'd die. Yes, it was excruciating pain.

I've came a long way in the 6 short months since. My final surgery is on the 19th and it can't come soon enough. By Dec. 1st I'll be cleared to workout and go back to work again, which I can't wait for.

Tell your friend with UC that she should have her colon removed as soon as possible. Many people live long productive, ordinary lives without a colon and there's no possibility of ever getting colon cancer.

Whey (Gold Standard)
Centrum mutli
Omega-3
3-4 cups of green tea a day (just because)

I was listening to The Game early on Saturday morning and I "fell" for some (Purity Products) supplement they were giving away. Some type of red fruit capsules. Anyway, I paid the $8.95 shipping and handling. I also sent myself a tickler notification to be sure and cancel before the auto-shipment plan kicks in.

I started on Flintstones (no joke) last week because they're easily digestable for me.

I take a multivitamin, but cannot notice the difference when I do not. Only continue doing so since my wife gets them for free.

Just started it, but do not miss taking my daily doses of Qunol Liquid CoQ 10. My energy and strength levels have been off the charts better. Only $30 for a two month supply and I found it at the Costco in Vancouver.
