What would you like to see the Blazers get in a trade for JJ Hickson?...

Do you think the have to get a center back in return? Are draft picks enough? Maybe you think they should trade Aldridge instead? Or just stick with what they have? :pimp:

I would like to see them get Durant back. Let's face it. Oden was drafted before Durant. Therefore Oden > Durant. Hickson beat out Oden last year, therefore Hickson > Oden. Hence, applying the transitive rule Hickson > Durant.

Hickson has to have little to no value. so if we could get a late first or a prospect for him, I would be elated.

I have been in the trade Aldridge camp from the beginning. Best way to get better, IMO....maybe not this year, but for a prolonged time. Could backfire, but if it does then make good draft picks and turn it around that way

Only a sign and trade makes sense or sign him outright. This will be a tough decision for Portland brass this summer. There is no way we get anything substantial for hickson because teams would just say "hey I will just go after him when he's an unrestricted free agent."

Here's a question... If you were say asking "would you trade Wesley Matthews for jj reddick"; would you do it? Because reddick is an unrestricted free agent this summer. Or would you just say "nah I would much rather try my luck going after him as a free agent and not lose talent".

There could still be a team that needs some size for the playoffs and give up a pick at the deadline

Actually Indiana would be a good team to trade with since they already have such a good defense to make up for hicksons terrible d. What do they have that they are willing to gamble on?

Traded with Matthews for Hibbert and a young SG/draft pick.
Traded with scrubs for a real center.
A first round draft pick and an expiring contract.
A young wing player on a rookie contract who is out of favor/undervalued by his team.
A decent young PG.
The list goes on.

Not only is one of these bad enough....... but now there are 2! What are you...... Denny's nephew or something!

Hibbert cannot be traded to us until his current contract expires.

No. But I would trade JJ Hickson for JJ Reddick. Both are UFA at the end of the year. Both are significant contributers to their teams. Reddick would be awesome off the bench for Portland.

I don't think that's right

We rescinded our offer to him, so technically that rule should not apply to us

Oh did we? Once we were losing out, I stopped paying attention.

EDIT: ah, now I think I vaguely remember Olshey saying something about this. I was thinking he'd still signed the offer sheet. But it'd make sense for all parties involved. If Indy ever considered moving Hibbert, it'd allow them to still deal with Portland, which obviously had interest. And it would have been respect Portland showed Indy and Hibbert.

I think that's right anyway? I remember reading that Olshey came to an agreement with the Pacers to back off the offer if they promised to sign him for the same money or something like that. It ended up being beneficial for everyone I remember

Yeah, after posting, I immediately edited my post to add my vague recollection.

Evan Turner or Tyreke Evans. Then, slide Batum to SG and Matthews to bench. Sign a new big for the bench next year. Start Leonard.
