Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

and the bad stay in? hmmmm......There are really good places to live in the south....Nashville and Memphis don't make my list....glad you are staying there though...but you probably want to avoid the West coast entirely....spend all your tourist dollars in Tennessee.....shop local! Get Grizzlies seaszon tickets!this is a great year to be a Grizzlies fan after all

Well, I wouldn't know what seaszon tickets are, but I digress.

Nah, we'll be splitting time between Tennessee, the Florida panhandle, and, perhaps, Central Oregon At least, that's what our retirement goals are as it pertains to residences.

OTOH, I'm convinced this would be your dream forever home. You'd be well-suited, for sure.

That plan got nixed due to a number of reasons. So it looks to me like Salem has everyone locating to Marion Square Park, even closer to the capitol, not that it really matters. Took a picture just Friday on my commute home. What a wonderful sight. View attachment 44085

EDIT: Sorry, you were talking about Nashville. I though you were talking about Salem. They had a plan to create some housing near Wallace Marine Park and that map looked kind of similar to what was in my head.

Eugene just partnered with St Vincent de Paul in putting up a long heated hoop structure with dozens of cubicles inside it ..new sleeping bags and new tents for homeless people who've been camping at 13th and Chambers......it's located out of town on hiway 99 away from shopping and downtown and is pretty clean and well organized....really glad to see Lane County do this for the homeless problem given the winter conditions for people struggling to stay warm and dry on their own. These structures were designed for troops in cold weather areas to have bunks and shelter.

shit, son. that all? My Hawaii house is up $9200 in a month, and my new wino country house… well, we moved in 2 months ago, and it’s already up $25K on the real estate sites but the builder is charging $30K more than we just bought our for. It’s cray, FAMS! CRAY!

That reminds me of my cliff diving days for pearls in the South Pacific. Ah, eating coconuts, pineapple, macadamia nuts, papaya, bananas, mangoes and vanilla bean right off the wild trees. Ah, the beautiful bare breasted native women, the blue fin tuna sushi, wild pigs, mai tais and Singapore Slings. Everything was free. That's how I got my vast collection of black pearls.
And then, I woke up, dammit.

Blinded by what if you don’t mind me asking sir?

I’m not blinded about anything brother. I scratched and clawed from the bottom for 10 years after HS. Earned everything I have….. I know what’s going on out there. Curious why you’d think I was “blinded” about anything going on out there.

Respect. Just seems like you're a homer for Portland like people are with the Blazers. Overlooking reality. Ignoring/minimizing serious issues.

in all fairness i think I've been aggressive in focusing only on the negative. In return, someone is bound to go the opposite direction.
Not sure its blindness as much as trying to show another side than what i and some others have shown?
There is the chicken and the egg thing, which came first, but don't think it matters anymore. Lol.

Not ignoring anything. Proud of my hometown.

Here ya go:

10 Cleanest Cities Around the World

Portland, Oregon

portland-1.jpg

Consistently ranked among the greenest cities in the United States, Oregon’s largest city is known for its progressive ways and quality of life. It’s no surprise then, that the laidback citizens of Portland are proud to keep things clean. Take the Portlanders’ penchant for biking. In 2017, more than seven percent of commuters in the Rose City commuted to work by bike, according to the Portland Bureau of Transportation. For those who don't want to bike, excellent public transportation is also available. Although already a leading city in renewable energy use, Portland leaders recently joined a global pledge to transition to 100% clean energy by 2050.
