Hopefully its safe, I remember a few years back an islamic terrorist tried to bomb it (I was a few blocks away at the Paramount Hotel)
My wife and daughter are joining mw in NYC for Thanksgiving. We were hoping to catch the tree lighting there at Rockefeller , but it's not until Nov. 3oth.

Absolute shitshow. You can't even walk through the crowd at times. The vibes are dope though. The Saks show is cool. The tree, not so much, just go at odd hours.

Macys Hearld Square
Union Square Christmas Market (that and Bryant Park are probably the best ones)
Radio City Rocketts is actually pretty awesome
FAO Schwartz

Yeah NYC around this time of year is the best. Daughter's last year at home, thought we'd spoil her. I think all she cares about is meeting Sharpe in the lobby!!! Sigh......

Anything new/interesting to peep on NW 23rd or Hawthorne?

May check out Snow Peak, and I like the House of Vintage.

God Portland is horrible! What is happening to my city!

Lloyd Center had a little life back in it. Still a way to go, bought some stuff at the Magic Shop, that was pretty unique. Lots of nerdy shops now. It'd be cool if it'd be an indoor version of Hawthorne or something.

Still a bit sketch. There was some broken car glass in the parking garage and some homeless people seemed to be in the mall staying warm/dry and the crowd was still a bit sketch.

Hopefully it comes back to life with some more local shops.

Didn't really stop downtown Portland this time around. We drove by just to see it. Seemed like less homeless, but probably due to the weather, probably thrives more in the summer.

Did hang on NW 23rd and Hawthorne, which were both cool.

Police aren't referring cases to prosecutors. They show only 2% of thefts (down from 10% in 2019) get sent to the district attorney, only 12% of car thefts, and 5% of burglaries. When referred, 75%-85% of these cases are prosecuted by the DA.

This whole thing about the state and counties being "soft on crime" is just BS. Police aren't doing their job.

Neighbors on SE Powell say they’re being driven out by crime surrounding homeless camp

Nearly 3,000 new homeless campsite reports. 906 of them along Powell.

It is time to behead every politician in America, as it is painfully clear that they no longer care about humans... at all.
