I can't believe that after closing down the schools for most of the month of November that so many teachers are taking the week off for the make-up week that was necessary due to all of the strike days off that they took. So much for "striking for the sake of the kids"!

They had to hire 500 subs?
According to KOIN 6
The week was intended to make up for the educational days missed during the Portland teacher’s strike that lasted 26 days. However, according to school attendance, one in every six students and one in every five teachers were absent on Monday.

That adds up to approximately 9,019 students and more than 558 teachers absent from school. On Tuesday, that number increased to 636 absent teachers. And with just 478 substitutes, that leaves the district 115 educators short for classes.

‘Devastating and heartbreaking’: Portland leaders’ frustrations mount at all-time high homeless deaths

Put our frustrated Portland leaders on the sidewalks for a few days, and the homeless problem ends by next week...

It just goes to show how little of a shit we care about our own citizens here in America.
But how? We have no place else for them...

I have spent TONS of time in 5 of those cities and would literally put them in my top 10 safest feeling cities.
Fuck polls and people who answer them.

arrest every one of them. If I was in line and missed a flight, I’d be furious.
Holding commuters hostage is not right. Period.
These types of non permitted protests against innocent people need to be stopped. Go camp on the capital lawn and stop fucking with people’s personal lives!
Yeah - I don't see how these people think that this is helping their cause. Seems to me they're just pissing people off.

You say that like it's a bad thing......

Nah, just suprised at the results.

My thing would look like this old beer commercial.

The more I think about it. We should make it illegal for attorneys to run for public office.

And require everyone running for public office to have work experience in a brewery.

The country and states would be in much better shape than it is now.
