Or, if not trying to make money, simply have each speed limit sign give off a signal indicating the desired speed. Have people's cruise control pick up the signal and go that speed.

Defund the police BECAUSE of the rising crime. Don't have them do jobs they aren't good at, and since they aren't doing the work, don't pay them for it.

Or just shut the Portland Police down and have Multnomah County take over. They aren't doing their job, and weren't doing it well before 2020.

i admit. I am hunting. But its just because i think the downside of the city is being dismissed by many when discussing the state of the city.
Also. Im not claiming anything caused anything in that post, other than showing Portland needs serious help with cleanup.
Trust me, I'm sad. I love Portland. I want it all to be beautiful. I just know some parts aren't, and i don't think they should be left behind when we all discuss whats going on in the city and the current state it is in.

ill add that it has bothered me considerably( as much as an online forum can) that while i have been trying to point out that there are many areas of Portland in serious need of help,
Not only have most people not shared in the caring but have actively tried to pit me as some bad guy for asserting there are issues. As if its wrong of me to keep this from being swept under the rug.
Its where my much of my abrasiveness has stemmed from….

oookay… lol. I grew up and graduated there. I moved away less than five years ago, to about 15 miles away from the city limit.

So imagine your post doesnt have the relevance you think it does…. Oh wait. No imagination necessary.

now imagine growing up and loving the city but being saddened by what you see and then witnessing the silence of those who live there, as they turn a blind eye to the issues that are clearly prevelant?

Sorry i don't really care if you cant handle someone just outside the city limits bringing up the news no one else will.

Now imagine the audacity of someone who actually gets annoyed at someone else for making sure some things about the city don't get lost and dismissed???

I'm going to say it's no myth...my asian wife has a spotless record too but she's pissed off countless road ragers by driving slower than anyone else on the road and stopping 15 feet behind the car in front of her at a red light......I drove in asia enough to know the myth is real.....I have a perfect driving record too...when you drive a motorcycle in Taiwan everyday you get a real clear picture of traffic tendencies. Lot of aggressive tailgaters in America...lot of road rage...one thing about asian drivers....you won't see road rage from them at all.

you know what? Ill add more to your post because there are so many angles to how you typed that up. .

If the roles were reversed, id ask dude from canby for help in cleaning it up.

How cool would it be if people here just accepted the truth and united together and created an S2 volunteer cleanup crew and went out on a weekend and cleaned some places up?

i would make sure i could help.

But instead of going in that direction, your direction is to get mad at me because im an “outsider”??

shit two years ago i would have tried to spearhead such event, but because of how people are and how your response is a perfect example, not a chance. Though if someone else did, id be the first to hop on board.

So before you get all defensive because im pointing out the truth, why not work together to do something about it?

your response is a perfect example of the issues todays society has.

instead of trying to build something up, you'd prefer to tear it down. Cut off your nose in spite of your face.


People need to put aside these stupid petty differences and learn to unite together again to help better this country…and this city.

I found another list for 2021 that is a bit different with San Francisco and Lubock Texas on the list. I looked for current data and found several of these but Portland is not on any of them...

I'm not attacking you but what you're saying is not accurate. People have been concerned about the homeless problem in Portland. People have been concerned about the protests in downtown Portland. What the majority of disagreements have come from in this forum is how to deal with it and how extensive the problem is.

People have and do care. Saying that you're the only one who does is not correct.

nah thats fair and not fair for me to say people don't care. Id say maybe some didn't care to voice the same concerns i had and have, but preferred to voice displeasure of my posting about the issues, And riding me as some villian.
But to say people don't care about the issue is wrong.

I'm not mad at all. Just trying to suggest one reason why your constant 'portland is a shithole country' refrain doesn't go over well with others.

I'm not interested in doing anything about it, nor am I complaining about it. If you want to do something about it, instead of just complaining, I am quite sure that there are MANY efforts already ongoing that you could join.

Cleaning up does no good. It'll be trashed immediately after. The trash isn't the problem. Our refusal to deal with homelessness is the problem.
