Rumor What's going on in Portland? (1 Viewer)

Who cares where the money is coming from. Portland's homeless are being ignored. In fact, our homeless population is on the rise. Even under Biden.

From America's president, to the governors, to city mayors. Our country fails it's own citizens. Why the hell we vote for useless politicians who care more about beautifying a city, than helping it's own citizens is beyond me.

It seems to me that if they spent money... on the problem. The problem just might actually go away.

Homeless off of our streets would beautify Portland just fine, IMO. Make Portland a safer city in the process. Win, win.
Biden is not omnipotent unless Congress is willing to work with him.

It rubs you the wrong way when ONE PERSON in this whole forum posts positive things about HIS hometown? Felt you needed to run out and find “alternative” news to share. You felt this thread was missing that?
I'm not rubbed the wrong way. I'm calm. Be positive as much as you want. That was just the first things I saw. I'm glad you had a great afternoon.

I'm on my way up to see a concert tonight at the Star. Doors at 8. I'll be sure to post pictures, hope I don't get shot!

Prepping for my second annual haunted house of horrors at my house for halloween in Portland. Spent my day off building an electric chair for it. Still some touch up to do on it.

We bought a house 3 years ago with a pass through garage, and me and my kid were super stoked thinking hey, we can do a haunted house! Covid hit and screwed up those ideas, but we had one last year, and gotta improve on it for this year.

What side of town you live on?

We have more than enough money allocated to homelessness to house every homeless in the metro area 3x over for a year. And we have that funding in place every year moving forward. Buy hotels. Whatever it takes. Get these people help. We have approved the money. Now it's in our leaders to get it done.
We need big time leadership to get those with mental /and or addiction issues in hospitals/institutions for help. Spend the money to build them.

Provide housing and jobs for those that want help to get on their feet.
For those that want to just party and do nothing tell them they can do that anywhere but they cant loiter.

That seems a little sus. Like, how long of a collection period are we talking about? How many of those are actually from people who use insulin?

That sounds like it's also at a recycling plant and either someone is grossly misinformed OR purposely being misleading.

All I was thinking is, WHY ARE YOU PUTTING YOUR HANDS IN THAT?!?

After a gun incident near Franklin High School, Portland police took 80 minutes to respond

A KGW investigation found police were slow to respond or didn’t respond at all to three separate incidents involving guns spotted near the Portland high school

I think the Portland Police have mastered 'quiet quitting'.

barfo

My granddaughter goes to 1st grade at Atkinson which is part of the Franklin High School campus.

This is beyond fucked up.

My daughter had her senior pics yesterday. Inner city kid…..
beautiful day out.
