If someone was taking pictures of the inside of his car and circling it that guy would have a definite issue as I would.

The "fearless man" is a real jerk. Intentionally antagonizing police for no reason. What was his point?
He has every right to record those cars at those locations.
The cop was an asshole for trying to make him stop.

Don't like it? Don't park your car out in public.

Otherwise, mind your damned business.

The guy was taunting him. He was being a jerk!

He wasn't taunting them any more than they were taunting him. It's not fun when they start harassing innocent people in public spaces either.

They didn't have to say a word to him. If they were concerned they could have kept an eye on him from inside the building or juat pulled up a chair and watched him from outside.

Those police need to learn to stay in their own lane. Hopefully they learned their lesson.

His intent was to get a rise out of the cops - that's it. Now I will agree that the cops should not have taken the bait but I still say the guy was being a jerk when his only intent was to get a rise out of the cops.

When the iPhone first came out the PPD arrested multiple people who recorded police encounters. Also, PPD is one of the last large city police departments to start using body cameras. Citizens have a constitutional right to record the police even if it has nothing to do with them.

Transparency in policing isn't something that is just given to citizens. We have to be vigilant.

In that video look at what the police were arguing, they didn't want that person recording inside their vehicles because there might be people's records on their computer screens. I could see if an officer sitting in the car and running someone's driving or arrest record but no one was in those cars. Those computers should not be left on. Those records should not be seen by the general public.

Was that guy an ass? Yes. Was he wrong? No.

If you, your family, your kids, or your grandkids are pulled over or approached by the police be polite and respectful but record the encounter.

Sure, he was a jerk. But it's necessary.

Unfortunately it will take more of that to get enough cops to mind their own business and be less corrupt.
