Not many players in the NBA owned the fourth quarter like Brandon Roy did last year, so it was befuddling to see how relatively little influence he had over many of the Blazers' first quarters.

YES!!! I've been saying this ever since Roy entered the league. He's entirely too passive in the first quarter, and this often leads to a Blazer disadvantage on the scoreboard. I'd love to see him come charging out of the gate like a madman, and show the rest of the guys how to get it done.

That's the difference between a 29ppg scorer and a 24 ppg scorer. With his new contract, I think we Blazer fans will see a more assertive Brandon Roy early in games, in part to try and rest in the 4th quarter.
