What's up with CJ?

I mentioned this in the game thread... but I have always thought CJ came off as smug. Flame me if you want, but I've actually never really liked his attitude.
You know who cares if the players have personalities? If they play well on the court you won’t care. James Harden is smug Adonal Foyle but you’d want him balling on your team.

Nah. It's like with Nurk, he does great things, but for the love of god stop resorting to flopping. I don't like floppers on any team.

And for the record, before anyone tries to assume what I mean or put words in my mouth, I want CJ traded for his play on the court and how he hurts the team more than he helps it, not his personality.

They can be separated.

agree, he looks like he is going thru the motions and has regressed from last yr and is becoming a ball hog

Hell flop on defense every fucking possession as far as I'm concerned. Just don't flop on offense and take yourself out of the play.

Just play the game with a shred of integrity. Not hard to ask. He does play with integrity about 80% of the time, but then he just takes himself out of plays on both sides

 Fuck. I honestly don't know whether I should flame Strenuus or if I'm angry because I am smug like C.J. You know there is a thing called "too much therapy."

Fuck that. Not good enough.

I say toss in whatever draft picks and maybe even Swannigan to make this happen....

This would help balance their roster, and ours.

I'll bring it out again about CJ....he's not suited to be a starting 2 guard...he's a perfect 6 man...only BGD and I agree about this...we need bench scoring and to get other guys into double digit scoring on the starting unit....you can hide one guard on defense but not two of them. CJ would thrive in the role Mo Williams had with us...bench sparkplug who could build a lead against second string units....he lights up everytime he talks about the east coast where his girl is from....he wants to be a Knick...book it....that's why he worked out in New York all summer..his girl lives there...any east coast destination would probably make him happy and he'll make an allstar team in the east...here, he's realizing what Crabbe realized....he's a shadow next to Dame

The bolded isn't true. What's been said is that since he's starting, it's not plausible to bring him off the bench. And frankly, with our current lineup, that statement is still true.

we disagree...and for several years I've touted CJ as a stellar 6 man....only person agreed was BGD....now other members are starting to see my point, but still...only one other person here has ever really shown support for the idea...that's BGD and I'm not sure about your lineup statement....we need bench scoring more than 2 guard scoring ...and the 6 man has a green light to ballhog....the starters should spread the love more....off the bench CJ can dribble as much as he wants and dominate the second unit trying to guard him.

But you're neglecting the Key question:

Who starts with our current lineup?

PC......with this roster...defense...no turnovers...rebounding...let Noah, or another starter get some shots up early....we need to promote double digit scoring for more than Dame and CJ....I've said this already...it's bugged me since we drafted CJ

Fwiw I've subscribed to this view for some time as well. We need Wes Matthews 2.0 in our starting linueup. Find that an all star SF is less of a necessity.

as we stand..he's the dude...could we upgrade...sure...but I think we play less selfishly with him out there and CJ would rock as a 6 man...not that I think any of this will ever happen..it's just what I'd try if I coached this roster

Utter B.S. Many here have said the same thing for years, but with the reservation that he's far too good for such a role that would be a demotion with our lineup options. Has anyone here argued against the idea that CJ would be the perfect 6th man on the right team?

You literally just advocated we start Connaughton over CJ. CJ is our leading scorer in the 1st quarter.

That's simply not true. Most everyone agreed, early on, that he'd be best suited to be our 6th man. It's just that now that he's been a starter - and a pretty damned good one - for a few seasons, most people understand that it's entirely unrealistic to demote him to a bench role. The ONLY coach who has the credibility to make that sort of move is Pops...and I don't think even he would start Pat over CJ...he'd know how to get CJ to play a more team-based game.

Boom! Thank you!

I never said it was a popular idea..actually I said it wasn't....I understand why....I've always said this about CJ..no argument there

No, other members are seeing that we need to trade him. big difference.

Last year I was on CJ can go far, but the way he is playing it's nothing else but Jamal Crawford.

I'm not starting a cult here...people can believe whatever they please...

Riiight... And down the road, you'll be back to saying you were the only one who felt CJ should come off the bench. Straw man much?
