So, I've seen that it's likely that the Blazers plan to trade the 57 pick, Tanguy Ngombo, that they are getting from the Mavs as a result of last night's trades. I've also read that it was the T'Wolves who had him on their wish list. Thoughts as to who the Blazers might be trying to get in a trade? Hopefully, something to bolster front court depth. Randolph? Tolliver?

Re: What's Up with Tanguy?

My guess is a future pick. Nothing to see here

Re: What's Up with Tanguy?

tolliver or Randolph? The guy was the 57th pick. How about sites a little lower. Like a future second.

I loled a little when I saw the Randolph or Tolliver suggestion.

Did I suggest in my post that it would be a straight across trade? Obviously, the Blazers would have to add a player or two to make a trade happen. I'm only looking for ideas as to who the target might be.

Sometimes, I swear, the main purpose of this place for some people seems to be to make yourself feel better by putting someone else down.

I agree. It's getting more prevelant all the time.

I love you too e_, but what else could we add that would be fair?

The T-Wolves are pretty well stocked at PF and just added Williams who is going to need PT at the 3 & 4 spots, so it wouldn't be surprising for them to be looking to move Randolph or Tolliver. They were said to be the only team that knew diddly about Tanguy, so it seems logical that the Blazers have something cooking with them. For salary matching purposes, the Blazers would likely have to include Babbitt or Williams and possibly Johnson.

How about Bayless TPE, #57 + 3 million for Randolph and a future 2nd?

I thought I had read that they were more interested in moving Beasley. He makes more money and essentially plays the same position as Kevin Love and he's a bit of a head case. Bob Whittset would love him.

Re: What's Up with Tanguy?

Forgot about the TPE. Works for me. Go sell it to the T'Wolves.

I honestly don't think it would take a lot to sell that. I am sure the Blazers think too higly of the TPE to give it up though

Nicely done. Just the right degree of snarkiness to offset the positivity.

Re: What's Up with Tanguy?

Looks like he lied about his age. Without the trade being done yet, I don't like how this is going

Re: What's Up with Tanguy?

DXpress just reported that Tanguy was busted for lying about his age.

He was actually born in 1984.

Re: What's Up with Tanguy?

Well we got a 27 year old who won't ever come into the NBA. now we are dealing with khan we can still pull something out of this.

Re: What's Up with Tanguy?

I actually think this is pretty big news?

He should be ineligable to draft, so Portland should be able to get some sort of compensation from someone? Another pick? Cash? Something?

Why would he be ineligible to draft? I don't get it.

Re: What's Up with Tanguy?

He lied about his age and is really 27. That makes him draft ineligible.

A future second rounder that we then send to Denver wouldn't be bad so we can keep ours for next year. I'm never as excited about the second round as I am the first round(who is?) but second rounders can become decent role players.

But why? Can you not draft 27 year-olds? Or is there a rule that says if you tell a lie you can't be drafted?

Re: What's Up with Tanguy?

No because he lied about his age

Ok. It's not clear to me that makes him ineligible, but maybe it does. Are you saying that even if the blazers really wanted to keep his 27-year-old butt, the league would not allow it?
