Is he just out of sorts? His offense was never great, but fell off a cliff when we acquired him, which is okay so long as his defense is great... but now it isn't. Is he, as the kids say, washed? Or does he just not like playing the Billups way? Last season he was the one player I would've cloned to make the Blazers better, but this season...

Couldn't he at least have stayed good long enough that we could overlook how many decent players were available with those two draft picks we gave up for him? (muttermutterTYRESE MAXEYmuttermutter)

I hope Billups will sit down with him and talk; try fto find out what is the problem.

He had surgery over the off-season. I wonder if that’s why it looks like he’s moving through molasses now. Literally has the footspeed of a center and can’t jump for rebounds to save his life.

Hindsight is 20/20.

of course it is. That's the only gauge we have for decisions.

I think "hindsight is 20/20" is one of the dumbest phrases ever. It excuses incompetence and stupidity. It excuses poor preparation and process. It is dry rot hiding behind the "what-we-knew-at-the-time" excuse

it excuses Bowie over Jordan; Martell over CP3; Oden over Durant; Zach over Adebayo. It excuses buying Betamax over VHS; Xerox giving away Windows; installing LP siding. It grades bad choices the same as good choices. "Hindsight-is-20/20" is inscribed on the Monument to Mediocrity

It's only bad if used as an excuse. It's shorthand for saying "that was not the consensus at the time."

I regret I can only give this post one like!

For the fans, it is 20/20 hindsight. For a highly paid professional it should be foresight.
It was a gamble. For all we know it convinced Dame to stay another season. I have a feeling that most of what Olshey has done has that as its motivation.

Smarter people than me: is Chauncey misusing RoCo? Asking him to do things that don't play to his strengths? I imagine, just as Batum felt misused by Stotts offensively, because he was just parked in a corner, RoCo could feel misused defensively if he's not allowed the autonomy to roam.

Whoa whoa whoa, Betamax had superior quality. That's my only quibble. :P

Nothing suggested Tom Brady would be the GOAT of football. Nothing suggested Ant would be an NBA player. Take a peak at Josh Allen. His entire career suggested he’d be an average at best accuracy passer.

So, yeah, hindsight is 20/20.

But, it’s for people who are addicted to spreadsheets and analytics. Because they say, “well, you can’t grade the will to win”. It’s a bail out for them.

Hindsight is 20/20 is meant for the analytics dorks who can’t grasp that not everything can be graded or measured.

Another example would be something like Mine That Bird winning the Kentucky Derby.

hindsight is 20/20 is the calling card of analytical dorks who focus solely on data, like I said. It bails them out. “Well, based on the data this is a good choice to pick Dunkirk or Nile”… how’d that go?

Neil traded the pick that Detroit (via Hou) used on Stewart for RoCo.

We could use some of that unhinged aggression from Stewart than whatever this is that RoCo is giving the team.

How, exactly, has that bum kept his starting job?

He's had maybe 4 decent games this season, and he's a shot a TOTAL of 3 free throws.

What exactly is he providing the starting 5.

There was a time I thought he brought great things to the team. Now he just exists. Doesn’t really do anything even on defense as of late.

I can go without the streaky ass players on this team. Either bring it or collect DNP’s

Disappears game after game.....in a contract year.

That is a new level of not giving a crap.

Aminu tried to dribble the ball up the court and wasn’t aware of his limitations.

hard pass.

and his BBIQ was the equivalent of a fucktard
He was better and we’ve never successfully replaced him. It was supposed to be ZCo but he got hurt.
