I don't know if this is illegal, but I just went in there. And nobody and I mean nobody posts in there anymore. So I ask you. What do you put the cause of this to? Is it that S2 is that irresistible? I have my thoughts. But let me get yours.

I left because a New Jersey housewife banned me for having the audacity to post in a thread where someone later swore.

Poorly moderated, same bitter few who have petty arguments that go back a decade, no long term archive of posts, no way to search posts, no ignore feature, no way to post pictures or videos, Jet.

It's such an outdated medium to communicate. When I discovered the phpbb format, I never went back. It was too damn hard to follow what was going on when I posted on Oregonlive.... and that was over ten years ago.

It went down hill because the moderator didn't listen to the customers using the forum.. If you don't make changes and listen to the customer theres a good chance it will not survive.

Asleep at the wheel!

Advance Publications (who owns Oregonlive) has moderators in NJ. You flag a post they delete it. You can get any post over there deleted. It's rather hilarious.

BGG: I don't think they can justify the costs involved of running a forum which is why they are drifting away from the forums. Moderation is one cost that just isn't worth it to them.

Which makes me wonder. What are the costs to run this forum and is it worth it to the admin?

Due to douches like the Laker Lanny's of the world. They have to have moderators. Which means extra cost. In the end, how much money does leaving the forum actually bring in for them?

Except the parent company that owns Advance Publications also owns Reddit. Reddit is by far the most successful and growing forums on the internet. I don't understand why Oregonlive just doesn't shut down their forums and link them to Reddit.

I have tried about 3 times to go over there and check it out. The format is too confusing. I love this setup.

Naw, Jet is one of the better guys posting there.

S2 used to be great.

Then all the O-Live posters arrived and turned this into O-Live.

Is this where all the new dorks on here have come from? What the Denny, is there no nerd filter for this place?

So, what are your thoughts then?

Several guys always stick together and insist conversations conform to their sense of what the forum opinions should be. True homers for sure, which would be fine but they try to force it on others, by stifling other opinion if not trying to silence the poster. Support your team, don't criticizes it, then when that doesn't work, they pull out the race card at any opportunity.

Lanny, Cup, Hoperunsdeep are the core of this group. I, for several years didn't mind being a count weight to these tactics but, I decided to let it go when Lanny attacked me in full force for being a disappointment to him. I didn't want to cause the fellow anymore trouble than he already has. I had Posted before the last draft that the name Shabazz was like fingernails on a blackboard, I hope we don't draft him.

Lanny went ape shit over that and attacked me for the racists posts. I suppose it might be, but
actually if you read the fatwa about Shabazz, I find it is a racist story about the devil white man
and his days are about over, so running around with the name is more of the same. He was named in memory of the tribe of Shabazz and I don't think that naming was intend to calm any tensions.

Anyway screw them, enough.
