Well, if Roy needs to coast in the preseason to put up numbers like he has over the first three games of the season, I'm completely fine with it.

Are you really on here at 4:00 AM your time?!
But I agree. LaMarcus has looked terrible to me so far. 79 games left though.
I really wish Brandon had played harder in the preseason! Sure would have helped us huh?
Aldridge went 20/10 last night and outplayed Amare Stoudemire. Ridiculous.
Not at all. You apparently still don't even get the basic point, after all of this. Let me say it again, one more time, and very slowly, just for your benefit . . .The Heat were 3 and 4 in the pre-season. Disgraceful according to you.

What I care about (and what I've been saying throughout) is the EFFORT you give in the preseason. If you play hard and play together, that will usually translate into wins, but if it doesn't, I don't have a problem with it. All I want to see is genuine effort, rather than coasting.

? Let's say, hypothetically, that Roy decides to play balls out in the preseason. That usually entails his crazy drives into the lane. Would you be happy if Roy was giving his all, drove into the lane, and tore an ACL in a meaningless preseason game?

Take a look at some of the box scores from the preseason, my friend. LeBron James, Dwayne Howard, Dirk Nowitski, and a good number of "solidified" players had outstanding all-around performances during the pre-season. Roy was notable for being one who didn't.
What a strange thing to care about.

John Wooden is probably who you're thinking of though the exact quote went ..."don't confuse activity with achievement"Exactly. There was a coach - can't remember who - who had a famous saying - "Don't confuse effort with results."
I thought this thread was done!!!!! LA has looked a little off. Shooting % is bad, but I could care less if he puts #'s up like he did last night!
HCP, are you on this trip? If so, what is the vibe you're getting?
FUCKING WELL SAID FAMS! This should be the last post in this dumb ass thread!
HCP, are you on this trip? If so, what is the vibe you're getting? I feel confident watching this team; more so than at any time since the Pippen days.
I am. The vibe I'm getting is All Business! With guys like Camby and Andre around, nobody is acting all goofy and shit like we used to with Travis and Marty around. Rode the elevator up late last night here in Chicago with Nic, LA and Brandon........ They were acting like it was just another game they should have won and did. Confidence, not cockiness! If it means anything, BRoy still talks trash to me about my Ducks! He's a hater!
Just tell him you only speak to people who support ranked teams.
All Roy has to do is "win yourself a national title first, junior"
He might not be able to use that line much longer. We'll have to see how things go.
