What's wrong with the offense?

Ok,</p>

- Nets are missing Vince and Marcus, they're 2nd and 3rd best playmakers. And Vince got off to a slow start shooting the ball.
- Krstic isn't there yet.
- Nachbar is struggling shooting the ball and playing sloppy at times.
- Kidd hasn't shot it that well.
- Jefferson has struggled the past 2 games but for the most part been the best offensive player for the Nets.
- Malik Allen hasn't really been that pick and pop guy.
- Collins and Magloire bringing the donuts.
- Boone somehow has taken a step back from his development from last season at the moment.
- Why does it seem sometimes the oppostion role players are running their offense better than Nets key starters in the game?
- They don't have any reliable big who can pick and pop or pick and roll.</p>

So,

- Is it the new offensive system to blame? Is it the reason for the crappy shooting? Or is just players struggling with their shot. Mix of both?
- Do they need some bigs that can stay on the perimeter and be effective shooting and passing the ball and give cutters some room in the lane or a kick out option?
- Would simplifying the offense by running some simple drive and kick plays help pick up the shooting? Have Bob Thate spot in 3 point land?
- How are they doing on the fast break points?
- Should Sean Williams work with Kidd in practise on running the pick and roll over and over and over again?
- Can Moore ask for a buyout from the Kings and sign for the minimum with the Nets?

Someone have any answers from watching what has happened on the court?</p>

Magloire's lack of post offense has really disappointed me. Boone hasn't been a big factor, but he's able to scrap something together with his unorthadox post game; still not an impact, though. Not having Krstic in full form really hurts this team, and is a testiment to your point in bold; Mikki Moore also attests to this.</p>

I like the idea of this new offense: more ball movement, less iso, but I don't see it being properly utilized. There's too much standing around in a "uhhhh what do we do now" kind of way. I wasn't too analytical of basketball back in our finals runs, so I'm not too aware of what Princeton offense is, but that seems to be mentioned in modern times with approval. I think they need a leader as a coach, and I don't see this from Frank.</p>

I will say that we look to push the ball more, although you can only do so much if its coming off an inbounds pass. Our defense isn't stepping up and creating fast break opportunities enough.</p>

Sean just needs to work on his pick technique, but I don't see that as something major. I want to see him fed the ball on the block, though. He showed some impressive moves tonight, I just wish I could see them used against someone other than James Augustine

I think if you acknowledge all the points you made in the first section then there isn't much to question in the second section. No Carter and no Krstic takes away 2 out of the 3 guys on your team who have real scoring ability. One guy and Kidd doesn't seem to me like it'll get things done.</p>

It'd certainly help if you had a guy who could score on the inside, but aside from Krstic getting it together I don't see that happening soon, so you just have to suck it up till then.</p>

Have you seen Sean Williams yet? The kid is going to be a beast. I can see us starting SWat by the end of the season to get a nice inside out side game with him and Krstic.</p>

They miss Carter. Coach has been bad lately. He chastised team for taking jump shots which was their staple last year. Most of the Nets last year where
stand-up shooters. Now with so much movement they cannot hit a lick. Nachbar is small forward. Frank play him as power forward. He insist playing
Collins. Instantly the Nets are are 10-15 points behind and the opposing team has one less person to guard. They let go Mikki Moore. They signed
Carter instead going hard for Rashard Lewis. Should they fire Frank? Hmm. The guy just got an extension. He is now very bold.</p>
