No water, no fire, lots of injuries.
Coincidence?

I thought it was broken...I'd heard from someone in the marketing dept that it was bookoo expensive to fix...

Why does "the man" always gotta hold us down?
The Rose Quarter experience has to be one of the worst in all pro sports. So lame. It's a damn shame.

I interned for the Blazers a few years ago and while getting a tour by some random employee, I was told that it was permanently shut off because it symbolized the "Jail Blazers."
The thinking behind it had to do with this logo,
![]()
The logic was that the logo was used in the peak of the jail blazers era and featured fire... so the Blazers didn't want fans to look at the fire outside and remember the jail blazers.
Who knows what the real reason is, but an employee told me that.

I'm not talking about the ROSE GARDEN I'm talking about the over all Quarter experience. No bars, the fountain is off, it's just very boring. The Garden freakin' rocks. Well, we make it rock.

You're right. Everything went down hill after they closed Cucina, Cucina![]()
You obviously have not been to many arenas around the country.
I've been to a ton of professional baseball and football environments. They put the Rose Quarter experience to shame. Not the Rose Garden experience, but the over all fan experience of the area. However, I have not been to many NBA environments outside of Portland.
Not really fair to compare an NBA experience to one of an NFL or MLB team. totally different moods/experiences. MLB games can be more about the experience of city views, or the feel of the stadium. NBA really can't do that, especially with the majority of the games being at night (vs not at night for baseball)
GOD DAMN! I'm not lying. It was no longer up to code and they didn't think it was worth fixing. On Thursday I will get to the bottom of it for you!
FUCK YOU GUYS AND THE MOTHERFUCKING FOUNTAIN!
