When does he get the "d" back in his name?

If Meyers can become an average rim protecting defensive center he should start. His shooting is elite. He will need to reduce fouls for that many minutes though. But if he can do those things (a very big if) we could roll with a lineup of;

Meyers
Aminu
???
CJ
Dame

With Meyers at center I really like the idea of Aminu playing PF. Gives us more shooting, athleticism and offense than the Golden State big men. That Blazer duo could defend two big men but also teams playing with a small ball PF.

I dont agree..Meyers is a natural 4. Sure he looks good against second string centers, but I dont see him holding his own as a starter at the five. But at the four, I love his game as a starter.

We have enough tall stacks of chairs to play the five, lets see who shines in camp.

I would like to see Plumlee or Davis next to Meyers (with Vonleh working his way in down the road). It doesn't matter who you call the 4/5, just who they guard and who guards them.

IF!!!!! Vonley and Meyers can play defense, those two would give defenses fits with their range

Blazers are leading the league in buying dime stocks. Let's hope they get a good return on some of them. The last thing I want to read about is the Curse of Lamarcus Aldridge.

Damian would have a field day with the wide open lane. Meyers and Vonleh could turn Dame into a top 5 player, because you gotta pick between defending the lane or letting the bigs shoot wide open 3s... you either cover the bigs and let Dame get 27 and 6, split it and let him get 24 and 8, or pack the lane and let him get 21 and 10.

Your statement assumes that Lillard is guarding himself. Funny thing, on most teams the guards do exactly that, they guard. Ok, ok, a bit harsh, and I have read where Lillard wants to be better on D...yeah, lets see that happen..get Della to keep a shadow on and the bigs look great, dont they?

meyers will be a great shot blocker when experience comes. ben wallace didn't becomes elite shot blocker until his 4th season. well meyers is heading into his 4th season.

I see Dame shooting 5, 6, 7 more shots a game due to having the lane be wide open. People will try to gaurd him but if he has a ton of room it's near impossible. You saw how it was when Gasol was checking Meyers in the playoffs. And if they come down to stuff the lane, it's an easy kick out

hmm I thought that Meyers played great D on Gasol....with a Mathews less team we were a collective sieve. Slow rotations..lack of effort from the guards in general..shit passing..far to lax unforced turn overs..what did I miss?

I'm talking about offensively

The end of this game Dame scores like 6 times in a row. When we ran 5-out he had SO MUCH room. It was literally a Dame layup or an open 3. If we ever run a Biebs-Vonleh frontcourt it could be really fun.

Yeah I'm excited for our "need 3 pointers down by a lot in the 4th lets make a quick run" lineup;

Meyers
Vonleh
Crabbe
CJ
Dame

I suppose Pat or Hendo could fit in as well. Hendo shoots corner threes accurately so let him park there everyone else can shoot from up top. We have mostly new players this year who can't shoot worth beans but we can still put out a few lethal long ball lineups if needed.

Thanks for saying what I said, onl with more words

The part about Ben Wallace simply isn't true.

Well maybe if Meyers grows his hair out like Bens, he'll defend like him to.

And we got our ass kicked. I've seen 2 youtubes posted here and we got our ass kicked in both. How is that a good thing?
