When ROLO and Freeland are back

If Leonard goes back to DNPCD that'll be a travesty and a monumental failure on our part. Cut 3 minutes out from LMA's court time, and 5 minutes from Kaman's.

LMA - 32 (cut his first quarter minutes from 12 to 8... easy peasy)
Rolo - 28 (same as he gets now, actually)
Kaman - 12 (a big cut for him)
Freeland - 12 (a slight cut)
Meyers - 12 (consistent 12 MPG will be a boon for him and us)

Freeland and Meyers could be considered one player used situationally: Meyers is offense and defensive rebounding; Freeland is defense and offensive rebounding.

i think ideally, you play the matchups out of kaman, freeland, and nards. whomever matches up best gets burn in the leftover minutes from lma and rolo

Yeah... I just don't agree with cutting Kaman's minutes that much. Kaman and Rolo should still split time and Freeland/Myers should be used depending on the situation as a based upon matchups.

based on production thus far, it isnt warranted i agree

My bottom line is that you can't run the offense through Myers or Freeland. Neither of them can create their own shot in the post.

that kaman and nards give and go 2 man weave they ran in the clipper game was horrifyingly amazing, i think they are both quick enough to confuse the fuck out of most bigs

I'll say this much...this is a good problem to have. Lopez and Freeland are the choices when you need defense and stops, Leonard and Kaman when you need points off the bench. Meyers improvement basically says after next season we let Kaman walk. He's a rental. Freeland and Leonard are keepers and Rolo will be starting as many years as he wants to be here.

I disagree. Meyers still has no post game to speak of and you cannot run the offense through him. He would be an awful 6th man.

Leonard and Kaman ..I never consider Leonard a 5..he's a 4..also nobody thought he could rebound either but guess what..he's rebounding and boxing out. Credit the kid! He's improved

Meyers has a great touch, even around the basket. He just needs more time and opportunities and I'm fairly confident he will develop that post game. Honestly the only part of his game that I'm not sure he'll ever get is rim protection.

I agree that he'd be a bad 6th man - but that's neither here nor there with letting him replace Kaman. By then we should have a wing as our 6th man.

I don't think you can say anymore that Meyers has "no post game". I wholly agree that it's not "6th-man worthy", and that you can't rely on it, and that it would be a mistake to park him in the paint and let him go. However, just in the last 3 games he's shown multiple post moves, hook shots, banked hook shots, give-and-go's, etc. He's not McHale/Olajuwon, but he's not a shining beacon of abject incompetence.

I think for Meyers what the team has said about him in practice is finally translating to him in an actual game. Kaman has been great for his development.

It certainly does appear that the best part of bringing in Kaman may end up being the work he's been doing with Leonard.

I wondered about that when I heard we signed him; he's Kim Hughes's greatest success as an NBA coach.

What have they said about him in practice?

Super athletic, runs like a deer, Hard worker, coachable, Good passer, great shooter, Learning NBA defense and needs to play in actual games. They've been saying it all along, Kaman, Freeland, Hughes, Stotts. I'm waiting now for CJ to live up to his hype, they've said the same thing about Crabbe and McCollum.

@mikegrich: Chris Kaman calling Meyers Leonard "Leo" will never not make me chuckle
