When will black people stop f*cking shooting eachother?

Charles Barkley and Bill Cosby always talk about it. Everywhere you go you have black people shooting eachother, just in Green Bay their was a shooting and it was a bunch of black kids, all the crime with guns and robbery in our area are black people or minorities. Why do black people/minorities commit so much crime? They take up a huge percent of our prison populations. I just wish this was brought up more. Asians on the other hand, generally never get in trouble (dsounG :happy0144: )

It's all because of where they were brought up.If your brought up in the hood when theres no money and the robberies are going on 24/7 your probably going to need a gun.When theres no money it always results in killing,I feel this is the case here.

Also the fact that most of them don't have fathers or role models...Look at rappers, my lord, they keep the black community down too.

When will people stop shooting each other in general? This thread made me think of this movie I just saw on IFC, called City of God, I recommend everyone to see that.

Ah, I think we shouldnt stereotype in this situation... It's a select few of those black people are like this in the world. the "gangsters". Real gangsters are the Triads, Italian Mob, Russian mob, Hashishans, Taliban. Not the bloods, not the Crips, not the Latin kings. they're pathetic. and theyre the ones who influence the others of the race to act that way.

Ehh, I sort of disagree. I agree that people just getting a gun, shooting someone, and calling themselves hard is complete crap. I'll give you that.

But some people have killing, robbing, hustling, drug dealing, etc. as a means of survival. If your family needs food or you will die, what would you do down in the hood? Would you hug them and say I'm sorry or would you go sell an ounce of crack? I would sell the crack if thats the only way I'm gunna eat.

Next situation: you can't get ahold of any drugs but you can get ahold of a gun. Your family still needs to eat. I would bust in the local corner store and stick up the join too.

Next: a gang of people in the same situation as you comes up to you and tries to jump you for your last dime, what would you do? I sure as hell would shoot him to stop him.

That's how it happens. I don't blame those guys for doin it, because it's their only way of survival. It's easy for us to downplay it and say "get a job and stop whining", but we don't live in those situations/environments. It's much easier to get a job where we live than in Harlem. Sometimes you have to take it from their perspective and face the facts.

You think all these guys sell crack, shoot people, hustle, and rob for the hell of it? Hell no. They would switch situations with you or me in a heartbeat. But it's a way of life and their only way of survival. I sure as hell would not accept living on the street with my family, hoping we live another day. If I had to make that choice, I sure as hell would slang, shoot, and hustle if I had to.

That's just you I guess. I wouldn't. I would earn my money. I would run to someone if I was in that situation, earn some money, go to school once I've earned enough, get a proper better job and work my way up. I would take the harder way, I would never go to a life of treachery no matter what the stakes were. Im just arragont and stubborn, I will always take the hard way.

I hate when people say rap doesn't have any influence, when it definately does, you take an african-american kid living in a welfare enviorment with only one parent and they see these RICH, let's emphasize the rich, rappers rapping about bitches, drugs, killing people, raping women, smokin weed, GUNS, drinking out of control it definately has an influence. Young people are always impressionable, that stuff can have an effect on how people behave.

You know why? Because almost every rapper is from a bad place like Harlem, Bronx, Compton, Detroit, etc. That's why. They don't grow up in ritzy areas and just decide to be the way they are. Thats the way they were raised and the way they grew up. So thats why rappers usually rap about that, with the exception of like Will Smith.

Once the mentality of ppl living in the slums changes from "survival of the fittest" to "let's work together to make the best of a bad situation".And it's not just black ppl killing each other, that's a pretty stereotypical comment

I attribute it to the media. You see music video's of "gangstas" and drug dealers talking about how they've done it, and they make it seem OK. They encourage the image of looking lazy, sounding retarded, and dressing like a thug. It annoys me, and although I can't do anything about it, it doesn't mean I can't find it annoying

When you have drug deals and such, you will get some violent crime as well. I think the U.S. should do a better job of helping out the poverty.In Canada its not that big of a problem, although we do have some issues in Toronto with shootings.

Ok my answer to the main question is probably never, unless we move out of the hood. All the facts are true but your not looking at it right, It is mostly blacks that are shooting eachother, But look at the black community that live in the nice places, they arent shooting eachother. See it all dates back years and years ago when blacks were being opressed (not to long ago actually) so we moved into the bad areas just becuz we had too, well now you have a bunch of poor blacks, so theres really no getting out, and when you add a black + a black it = a black, the reason its mostly black peope is becuz its mostly black people that live in the ghettos and mostly the ghettos are filled with blacks just becuz we can't get out.And the statement about rap is wrong.Most rappers don't go around talking about killing niggas and rapeing bitches and f*cking up cops, that's a stereotype, they used too but not anymore, i will admit that there is alot of that going on but the best rap artist ever (2Pac) did talk about killing people and drugs and rape, but he talked about it being bad. Just listen to a few of his songs like "Keep ya head up" and "Changes" and a few others.
