It's probably going to end up being just Carter. I could see Kidd getting the nod because he's a respected player..But after Iverson and Wade, Carter's the likely choice, esp after being the player of the month. Chauncey being and MVP candidate makes him a lock...Arenas is having a stellar season, with nearly 30/6. It would seem odd he didn't make it. Then there's Redd..It would be hard.

Either way, Carter is going to end up unintentionally hurting the other two's chances. Because if Carter is voted in as a forward, it'll hurt RJ's chances. LeBron and JO are the vote ins.. Pierce has to make it. Webber, Bosh, and Dwight are having good seasons...If Carter is made a SF, then I don't see how RJ can really make it. I hope he does, he really deserves it.

they can make him a backup forward like last year, he was PF

Carter will get there.

Don't think Jefferson deserves it.

The coaches can put players at any position. Only the ballot constricts them for voters.

VC fosho, dont know about Kidd, Jefferson won't.

The coaches should all boycott Vince for all the years when he didn't deserve to be there. Especially for last year.

What are you talking about? VC earned his spot last year despite his start in Toronto. He was MVP like in Decemeber and January and was averaging around 22.5 PPG by the ASG, up from his 16 PPG as a Rap, which shows you how good he played as a Net leading up to the ASG.

What do you mean he "earned" his spot? Being voted in by the fans is hardly earning anything other than a lot of time on sportscenter. He gave a half assed effort in Toronto, and since he turned it on in NJ he deserves to make the team?

I'm too lazy to even continue talking about this guy.

That was probably the dumbest and most hypocritical post I've ever read. Everyone in this thread is now less intelligent for having read it.

I could care less if you think my post was dumb, but I'd love to hear you explain how it was hypocritical in any way shape or form.

thanks for that insightful post. Vince DOES deserve it he is really turning this team around and it looks like they will end up running away with the division. You guys need to 4get about last year it's in the PAST.

Virve19, you have been here long enough to know better, please dont let that type action take place again, thanks-Henacy

I'm not gonna be one of those guys who jumps on someone for a short post, but come on...

Anyways, I see where Jurassic is coming from. Whenever a good old Vince argument is started up, it drags on and on with both sides going in circles. And what he said is not hypocritical. You can't possibly compare laziness in an NBA game to laziness in a basketball forum.

As for the question, I think Vince is probably gonna be the only one on the team, regardless of whether the other two are deserving. While I personally don't think he deserves it (and let's please not start an endless argument over this), the fans consistantly vote him in. He's third among guards right now, but chances are he'll be voted in.

even though i hate the nets vince carter deserves and should be in the asg this year, he been carrying the nets in 9 staright wins!!

Give me a few million dollars, some endorsements, fame, along with undeserved premature MJ comparisions and I will glady write a 10 page essay on why he shouldn't be on the allstar team.

Until then I'm entitled to make a half assed post. Me posting on jbb is for fun, it's not my job like basketball is for VC.

I'm not sure about the other two, but if Vince doesn't deserve it, I don't know who does!

Last year he deserved it. In previous years, he probably didn't, but that's what comes when the most exciting and creative player in the game:the fans vote you in. This year he definitely desreves it, and IMO, he deserves to be a starter over Wade.

This statement isn't as hypocritical as it is funny, either way- Carter has made the all star game because he can jump. Yes he can do a lot of other things too, but his last couple All-star appearances are soley based off the early 2000's. He is STILL basking in the glory of that dunk contest, that's not his fault though.

This year, Wade should def. get the nod over Carter, the only reason the Miami Heat are even on the cusp of contention conversations is because of him. Shaq who? Wade has carried that team (maybe not well but imagine how bad they'd be if he hadn't been there).

As for Carter- He did put the team on his back during that win streak, but it takes more than a 3 week stretch to make up for years of slacking off.

Oh- and the Nets have lost 3 straight

VC, yes.

Kidd, as mentioned before, competition could be tough.

RJ, not this year... (-;
