To me, this is just another sign of the Obama administration's ignorance about the real world. You never come off looking good by attacking the media; it only makes you look like you have something to hide, and are pissed off because the media is revealing it.
We're not talking about the "right wing" or the "left wing." We're talking about the guy in the White House. Obama whining about FOX on the Sunday talk shows, and sending his people out to blast FOX, just makes him look thin-skinned. The Bush White House could have singled out the New York Times, or CNN, or MSNBC for their coverage of the Iraq War, but they wisely chose not to. THAT is the point.I guess the right wing would certainly know, since they spent so much of the past 8 years attacking the media. And, I guess it didn't make them look good. So yeah... you definitely have a point.
It's actually great politics by the Obama Administration.

Try to keep up, please.
An aide to President Bush sent a letter on Monday to the head of NBC News requesting a correction for what he deemed “deceitful editing” of an interview and complaining about the blurring of the lines between news on NBC and opinion on its cable news network MSNBC.
And you think this is the same as Obama's Communications Director saying that FOX is nothing but "a wing of the Republican Party"???You cry about the media all the time, and now all of a sudden it's not ok because it is Obama instead of you/Bush?

Yes, it's relevant, but it's not in the same class. The Bush administration never went after MSNBC the way the Obama administration is going after FOX.Yes, I think the example I provided of a Bush aide doing essentially the same thing re: MSNBC is pretty relevant.

Ain't that the truth. Now that Obama is president, most of the media couldn't give a flip about the death toll in Iraq. In fact, you wouldn't even know there's a war going on over there. Also, the homeless rate is apparently higher than ever in New York City right now, but the media isn't playing that up, either, because it might make their boy Obama look bad.We can all agree that the tone and tenor of the coverage by the major networks is 180 degrees from where it was with the previous administration, which signal's to me they've dropped the ball.
I don't recall the Bush Administration boycotting either NBC or MSNBC. The President is not only refusing to appear on FOX, but the boycott stretches to the entire Administration.
There is not a single Obama Administration official who will appear on one of our major networks. It sets a terrible precident: Be critical of us and we'll punish you. I believe in a vigorous fourth estate as the Nation's watchdog. Their job is not to be cheerleader, but skeptic.

It always amuses me how you can play dumb when it suits you. No, the president isn't technically "required" to appear on any network, but when he appears on every major network EXCEPT Fox, it's a little curious, don't you think? You say refusing to appear on FOX like he's somehow supposed to. There's no requirement to give interviews to any network at all, much less Fox specifically.
You have to admit she's an embarrassment for the administration.

Agreed on that last point. On whether this sets a terrible precedent, it depends on whether Fox is guilty or innocent of the charges of bias.
I gather you are including Fox in that assessment?

Fox is not one of our major networks anymore than TCM or Food Network are. They provide entertainment, and a base of dis-information for the less intelligent sector of right-wing voting drones, and nothing more.
To imply they provide any factual, useful, un-biased reporting of actual events/news is ridiculous. If they are a news station then Bin Laden heads up the Red Cross.
BTW, next time you post a video try watching it first. She clearly states several times Obama has been on Fox and will go on Fox again.
As for Bush, I don't recall him ever going on any network at all. He pretty much kept us all in the dark during his 8 years of treason.
