I'm watching this close game between the Lakers and Rockets and I don't know who to root for. I always want the Lakers to lose but when they play the other West teams that we're competiting against.... I don't know what to do. Go Lakers? I guess? Ouch.

I never ever ever cheer for the Lakers.

Ever.

MAYBE against Memphis now....i'd like to see Kobe go for 120 points on them in a huge blowout though.

KingSpeed, Two rules:

1) Never, EVER root for the Lakers!!

2) Karma ultimately works out rule #1

I root for the lakers EVERY game! Even against the Blazers~!

Not easy, but we are foolish if we don't root for the Lakers, all eastern teams, and OKC against those teams.

I watched the Laker/Houston game and could not help notice that Batum is a cheaper, younger version of Shane Battier. And we didn't have to trade Outlaw or Webster to get him.

No one is going to catch the Lakers, so when it's a game against a opponent that is challenging us for a playoff spot, yea I root for the Lakers.

I put all biases away for these kind of things. I root for whatever is best for the Lakers no matter what team I have to root for. It helps that I usually dont see most of these games live. This year I will root for western teams beating the C's, and maybe now the Cavs. I base this on the wishful thinking of going to the finals with homecourt advantage...we shall see.

You gotta forget bias...teams are gonna win whether you like it or not

You forgot some:

Rule three: "Learn the game, then post"

and rule four: "Checkmate"

This is the way I look at it (Like Asimov's laws of robotics):

1) The Blazers' interests are first and foremost. If it benefits Portland, then that comes first above all.

2) Root against the Lakers in any instance that does not contradict rule #1. The Lakers always losing is not more important than Portland's gain. Blind hate is not always right.

3) Root against any remaining hated team, except when it contradicts rules #1 and #2.

I only watch Blazers games.

Ohhhhhh that explains why you over value everyone that's a Blazer and under value everyone who's not. Your telling people your not really worth debating with because you don't have a great understanding of whats going on in the league?

Is it a secret? I think he's said it before.

Is anyone REALLY surprised? People HAVE read his player evaluations and comparisons, right?

:)

FWIW, I am rooting for the Lakers in all these games. I want Portland to get a 2 or 3 seed... a 1 seed is all but impossible this year.
