Watching Zach Collins, I am trying to understand who he can be. So far, he reminds me of Tom Chambers, which ain't a bad thing at all. But I know there has to be a better comparison.

So who is it?

Young Kevin McHale. That's good - in more ways than one!

Chambers was an explosive leaper and an athlete, Collins isn't.

Collins is Big.
Collins has very strong Fundamentals.
Remind you of anyone?

OK, I am loathe to compare him to Tim Duncan because some will freak out.
Collins isn't obviously on a HOF trajectory, and he is also not black. TD also
played 4 years.

Nevertheless, Collins is good for the same reasons TD was.

Demeanor, BBIQ and fundamentals are vaguely reminiscent of Duncan. Long ways to go but here’s hoping he’s even a poor man’s Big Vanilla Fundamemtal.

As soon as I saw this topic, Tom Chambers was who came to mind, even before I saw the initial post.

Can I cheat and travel forward in the Delorean a few years?

Okay..... He reminds me of a white guy. A big skinny white guy.

A tall skinny guy with mad skills.

Justin Jackson who? Olshey laughing at you guys while eating his breakfast... lol

Not even in the slightest. Two completely different players. Chambers was all offense, no defense. Collins has earned a spot in the rotation of a 50-win team as a 20-year old rookie based on his superior defensive fundamentals and instincts.

This is kind of like saying a young Dennis Rodman reminds you of Bernard King. Of course, Zach is already better offensively than The Worm, but you get my drift.

I think he reminds me of a poor man's Anthony Davis. He has the potential.

But I'm wondering why so many people are only comparing him to white players.
