I have an opinion on this, but let's see a few votes first.

Rod Thorn all the way...he was there, the year we drafted K-Mart with the first pick.

I voted Jay-Z because that lucky bastard just got $150mm from Live Nation and he barely tours and keeps claiming he's never recording again!

Van Horn was a close 2nd. Pretty damn lucky too.

Coward!

Most player-representatives have been young franchise players fairly new to the team as of late (At least that's my perception). To this end Devin Harris is a good fit, as he is our new leader (PG), and already has earned himself the affection of the Nets community. Except for Cpaw who hates, and hates, and hates [/THE DADDY] lol

You can't go wrong with Jay-Z, although I would think he'd be a better fit on the lottery before our move to Brooklyn, to help garner attention for the rebirth of our franchise, and at the very least get the media talking about Lebron.

I believe Steve Francis was there in 2002 when Houston won it, and Brandon Roy was there in 2007 when Portland won it. So I think Devin Harris would be a good choice.

Also "Sly Fox" should be changed to "Sly Fox & Mini Sly"

KVH or beyonce, we might win the lotto if beyonce shows up

I pick Jay-Z, who might be the luckiest man on the earth.

If that guy isn't the winner of the life lottery, then who the hell is?

And I want the national media to make him the person most closely associated with the franchise. That's good for drawing free agents. I can't think of any in particular where that would help but I'm sure there are some.

I sat in almost that exact spot back in the playoffs in 2003 (I think) when we played Boston; I think I was a little more towards the corner though, from the looks of it. The governor was like 5 rows in front of us and wasn't paying attention at all to the game. Only time I've ever sat in the lower bowl at CAA, aside from some old Seton Hall games.

I almost posted that exact video in the game thread.

DeSagana Diop so he can eat the soul of whoever gets the #1 pick and demand it be given to us.

Kiki. If you're gonna give him control of the franchise, give it to him now.

I think that's who it will actually be.

I vote for Yolanda Vega. If she's unavailable, then Kiki.

it should be kidd that represents us

hehe i voted for jayz

Voted for jay-z... did u guys know that he got married last nite to beyonce? Pretty kwl huh? lol
I want jay-z to be more involved with our team so i picked him, it would be good for us if people see that jayz is the face of the nets.

ya, i wonder how the rest of the NBA will react to that ^

I too believe it should be Yolanda Vega...or Rula Lenska if Yolanda isn't available.

Now, remember, sports fans, the guys on television just sit there and await the results.

Before the televised lottery, OTHER team reps gather in a back room of the NBA TV offices and actually watch the league officials pick the balls. The results are then verified and sent up front.

In 2000, when the Nets went from 7th to 1st--the biggest upgrade in the lottery--minority owner Finn Wentworth was in the back room and Lewis Katz, then the principal owner, was sitting on stage. Katz is the second biggest individual stockholder in the team, after Bruce Ratner. Why not Katz.

I like the way you think. Let's get Wentworth and Katz over there again. Sounds like they're good luck charms.
