According to Beyond the Beat, the Blazers are looking to add a 15th player to their roster before the March 1 deadline, and bigs and point guards are currently on their list, with Joel Przybilla and Greg Oden out for the year, and Steve Blake now on the Clippers.

Wendell Maxley lists D-League big Dwayne Jones as a potential get, while recently waived players such as Brian Cook, Brian Cardinal and Kenny Thomas could fill the void up front. If Drew Gooden or Zydrunas Ilgauskas get bought out, they could potentially land in Portland as well.

Some point guards that could potentially be on Portland's radar are Mike James, whom Washington just bought out, as well as free agents Jacque Vaughn and Mike Wilks. D-Leaguer Will Conroy could also be in the mix at point.

Out of the players mentioned, I'd take Jacque Vaughn. He is a good defender and has experience not to be reckless.

I don't see why we would get a big and the other PGs are no better than Mills.

Mike James or Larry Hughes (when he's bought out) would be my choices. Neither are great, but much better than anything in the D-League.

Blazers have Mills. Unless they want some vet PG presence in case Miller wears down . . . but given the way the season is going, if we lose another player, whoever KP fills with the 15th spot isn't going to change things. So why not go with the rookie and Bayless.

What about the recently waived Marcus Haislip?

He was very solid in Europe and was probably a top-3 big in the ACB. Never really had a chance to play behind Duncan and Blair. I think he'd be a solid pickup.

I was looking at Von Wafers stats, who's currently a FA, and came across his PER when he was with the Clippers. Ok, it was only ONE GAME but still surprising.

-40.7 PER

Anyway, He was a solid player with Houston and is better than a lot of options out there.

Only a few days left. Any updates?

Yeah, you KNOW that B-Roy is all over Conroy, hair wet dog-style.

The biggest attribute of the 15th player is for practice. What do we need the most in practice? That's where we should go.

Now that Blake is gone....someone to throw chairs? :dunno:

Rod "Boom tho" Benson.

If there is any player in the d-league that fits the city of Portland its that dude.
