Obviously Dame and CJ will be 1 and 2. Nurk will be out for most of the season.

Make your predictions. I think it will be fun to see everyone's predictions at the beginning of the season and then at the end of the season.

My money is on Zach. He's going to have an amazing opportunity based on the position he plays and his role on the floor. Here's to hoping he stays out of foul trouble.

I picked whiteside, but there's a few interesting choices... Here, if Anf or Zach breaks out, hood may become their third scorer. So excited.

I wanna go nuts and say Skal or Mario, but I’ll go with the safe answer and say Zach. Really all he has to do is knock down jumpers and defend. I don’t think he’ll be asked to do more than that, but if he does do those two things consistently, he’s going to be big time. He’s our Ibaka.

Another thing he's gotta work on in order to really shine IMO is setting screens. Not only does he need to be careful not to commit silly fouls he and whitesides screens in the preseason were like a joke they created so little for the ball handlers...

The “Third Best”?
Guess it depends on what game and who they are playing.
Injuries and minutes would play a role.
Or are we talking career? Gasol has a ring.

I think Whiteside is going to be a rim runner off the pick and roll on the offensive end and own the paint defensively (both rebounding and protecting the rim).

I don't think there will a third best. I think about 4-5 guys will rotate depending on the game as the third best.

That is what i was thinking also. Third best depends on opponent and situation.

I'm going to roll with Baze for now...I think he'll lead the bench early in the season...dude will get some fast break buckets as a 6 man and Mario will probably lead that unit in assists...I just hope we can have 5 or 6 guys in double figure scoring every night instead of 2 or 3

Somebody has to be third best by default.

I hope someone is third best because of their good play, not because everyone on the team stinks.

It's also possible one of Dame CJ struggle and are outplayed. I might've ranked Nurk 1st or 2nd through three quarters of last season.

I could see any of Zach, Baze, Hood, Simons, Whiteside doing it, probably in that order. I voted Zach but sort of hope its Simons.

Has to be for just this overall 2019-20 season. If Simon's was an allstar he still wouldn't eclipse Gasol career.

That would be a good thing for the Blazers

Very very good thing. It's amazing to hear Hassan gush about Zach's defense. If he can become reliable on offense look out!

My personal hope for Whiteside is that he has a solid but not spectacular season and that coupled with an overall market devaluation of centers we're able to resign him.

If you just want stats, probably Collins. If you want the biggest impact on the game, then Whiteside. Having a true defensive presence at center means a lot and usually in ways one doesn't really notice unless they understand the smaller nuances of the game.

Interesting... I would probably go the opposite of this, whiteside’s always been good at putting up numbers and has been criticized a bit for stat chasing. Collins doesnt seem like the type to have big numbers to me. Interesting though.

CJ is regularly cited as the team #2 but last year, no way, that would be Nurk. This year, we'll see. Its only one game but doesn't do anything to help me change my mind about him NOT being #2.

Gramps...

Close call between Zach and Hassan but I voted Zach. Nurk is the clear #2 when he’s back to 100%.

I voted Zach, but even in this poll, we need an option for player to be named later.

I thought he absolutely played like #2 last night. A big, steaming pile of #2.
