Couldn't have said it betterProbably Meyers. He finally looks comfortable in his skin and the game noticeably slowed down for him this year. It took about 3 years longer than expected, but the important thing is he finally found it. He can probably play another 10 years if he wants and he's maybe the only departing guy whose arrow is pointing up. Tiny up. Aminu probably had the biggest impact on our team, but for me, he peaked his first year here and has been gradually sliding since. I think the "team" will miss Mo the most, but for me, it's Meyers and mostly for comedic purposes.
I caught that after I hit the post button, doesnt let me change it, and Im ok with it.I think it's brilliant that almost every announcer couldn't get Meyers name right and his name is misspelled in this poll LMAO

I love itI caught that after I hit the post button, doesnt let me change it, and Im ok with it.![]()
To be fair Harkless and Aminu wouldn’t have been to bad if they were just 15 min bench guys. But really none of those guys will be remembered..
You don't have the positive attitude needed to increase our 3FG%, and help us win a championship next year. Maybe you should learn from Meyers.I know there isn't 18 swish3's in this forum.
in a way, I disagree with this. I think Harkless would have been just fine at SF if Portland had somebody like Blake Griffin (with better health) at PF. And Aminu would have been just fine at PF if Portland had a Paul George or a Kawhi, or even a Tobias Harris at SF. In either case, the defense of the lesser forward would have been very valuable.
the problem was both were the starters...for 4 long frustrating years. We kept waiting for either of them to take a big step forward, and were still waiting for that step when they vanished in the most recent playoffs. Aminu wasn't the problem; Harkless wasn't the problem. Aminu + Harkless was the problem. Way too often it left Portland holding knives at a gunfight
Well said.I voted for Meyers. I had high hopes for him as a rookie. I saw him setting great screens and finishing alley oops in the SL and it had me pumped. I saw his raw tools and was very intrigued. I actually liked him a lot his rookie season and thought he had a solid foundation.
Then he started shooting threes.
That's when I learned his middle name and would shout it at games, MEYERS PATRICK LEONARD, YOU STOP SHOOTING THREES!!!
He was never a good defender until that series vs a prime Marc Gasol.
He still seemed aloof and goofy and earned the nickname "Butters".
But then he started to actually make the shots.
As an offensive player, he's become a pick and pop guy and has found a niche.
I'll miss him because he was a good dude, hard worker and always gave 100%.
He had EVERYTHING that made you want to root for him.
Father died while he was young.
Poor upbringing.
Stories of being huddled around the fireplace with his mother and brother with no electricity.
Brother is a Marine and their family is very tight.
Afforded himself a D1 scholarship as his mother could not afford to send him to college. Brought his family out of poverty by playing basketball.
He can say flameballs and thunderdunks as much as he wants and had it not been for Whiteside coming in I wanted to keep Meyers.

Aminu. Seemed like a great guy and always gave 100%.
Kanter, because he saved our collective butts when Nurk went down. There have been so many times in the past that someone went down and nobody stepped up, we should really appreciate what Kanter did for us.
I loved Chief. Still hurts.
I know. Stotts and Olshey were all about Chief at the 4. Never even got a peak at that lineup. It's a shame Stotts couldn't start Collins (or someone else) at PF and Aminu at SF. Aminu's a good defender against players his size and smaller. We got him because he defended James Harden well in the playoffs when he was in Dallas. Instead that nut Stotts made him defend power forwards.
A lot of roster turnover this summer which you always expect some but it seems like a lot more than normal so who will you miss the most?
That's exactly what I was talking about! How can any of you not miss the 7 foot Whipping Post!
Gonna take you all at least all of preseason to find a new one.
I will badly miss the Butters threads here. The awesome pictures. Great memes. Whew! The videos!!! Those were some fun times....
Btw, the only right answer is Enes.
The only wrong answer is Meyers.
