Who would you trade CJ McCollum for?

The reason I asked was because I was wondering about Zebo. He always seems to be near the top of the league with getting his shot blocked. Yet he is relentless and eventually he scores. I am really not trying to make a point here I was just wondering how it effected his stats. Because there are very few better at finishing at the rim.

Really this is all a little premature IMO because CJ is still young when it comes to being the #1 option. (in the NBA.) Which he is when Dame is on the bench. Whenever you are "the guy" who has the ball in his hands when the shot clock is winding down.... your stats will suffer a little. You will incur more forced shots as a result of it. And he probably does get caught in no mans land too often.

All I know is when he drives to the basket in traffic (right or left side) and kisses it off the glass.....it s often a thing of beauty. So regardless of whether or not his percentage at the rim are as good as they should be, "my gut" tells me he will be just fine at it in the near future.

Late to the party, but he is doing this against the opposition's bench. I know he had the stint when dame was out, but when he runs point, its mostly against the bench. There's a big difference.

Was it my imagination or did CJ finish just fine at the rim tonight? I saw him hit at least 4 out of the 5 he attempted.

Hendo is is becoming very intriguing. Why not re-sign him? Both he and Crabbe can play both SG and SF. There is enough minutes for Dame, CJ, Crabbe and Hendo.

The Los Angeles Clippers are determined to play out the season with Blake Griffin despite receiving trade calls on his availability.

The Clippers are expected to pursue Kevin Durant in free agency and wouldn't hesitate to trade away Griffin for him.

The Thunder would resist a sign-and-trade deal involving Durant until they're sure he would leave anyway.

Griffin is an Oklahoma native and he would give the Thunder the opportunity to acquire another perennial All-Star.

In Oklahoma they will let him beat people up anytime he wants to...a big selling point

CJ was 5-7 inside 5Ft tonight - his 2nd best efficiency inside (had a game of 5-6 on Jan 3)

As to why you don't resign Hendo is b/c you're trying to open up salary space to bring in one more legitimate top line player.

Portland’s backcourt duo of McCollum and Damian Lillard troubled the Bucks, with McCollum hitting 10 of 18 shots and getting to the rim or sinking his soft jumper. Lillard had 14 points and 12 assists in 34 minutes.

“CJ McCollum had a game going all night and broke us down,” Middleton said. “With him (McCollum) and Damian Lillard at the 1 and 2, they’re a tough combo to guard.

“It’s up there (in the league). Both those guys can score the basketball and facilitate and get in the paint.”

Lillard and McCollum are one of three guard tandems with 1,000 points this season, along with Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson of Golden State and DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry of Toronto.

I agree a top line player is more important. Plus as I mentioned in another thread, Crabbe is also a bigger priority than Hendo. But assuming that the Blazers find out pretty quick in July about landing the "big" FA, Henderson could still be out there for cheap. But I admit it is not looking good for that scenario.

I like the three guard line up of Dame, CJ and Crabbe and I hope that the Blazers stick with that going forward. If CJ couldn't play the point effectively, I'd be more in the camp of trading him, but with him being able to effectively play that spot along side Crabbe, I think it's working great.

if by some miracle Hendo was available on the cheap- yeah there's literally no reason you don't take him. But I have a feeling he'll be one of those guys who you look back on in 3 years and ask how he got paid so much. Exploding salary cap is going to spawn some really bad deals, hopefully the Blazers don't partake.

I agree, he is a $6M expiring contract. He's cap space, and a brilliant trade by NO.

But at $6M as a 4th guard, maybe he's worth it.

The guy is a starter in this league (for Charlotte). If any one of CJ, Dame, or Crabbe goes down for a bunch of games, Hendo is not a bad guy to give those minutes to.

Danilo Gallinari name has been mentioned in trade talks as well. Blazers could use a SF. Any interest there?

It was mentioned last night that CJ and Dame are the only 2 players in the top 15 for scoring that aren't in the All Star Game.

CJ wasn't in the top 15 when the All-Stars were announced.

I think you meant you disagree.

And I agree with that disagreement. :)

I agreed he is an expiring contract, which was a shrewd move by NO.

I'd like to see what else is out there, but few are going to be 4th guards capable of 14PPG as a starter.

Gotcha. and I agree. Id be fine with going long term with Dame(Leader) CJ(SideKick) Crabbe ( 6th Man) Hendo( Vet Stabilizer)
