He would be drafted to an NBA team, so why would he be committed to an international team? Hes not gonna get stashed either, so that makes zero sense.
It's usually the team's decision. They might feel he could do more working out with a coach or something like that instead. It also takes time away from other guys they may want to give a longer look at, like PapaG. I'm not saying he won't play just that it isn't necessarily a guarantee for players that are alreadt in the rotation.Collins better play. He's not ready to forego opportunities to better his game.
I highly doubt it.Real Madrid, who has very deep pockets is trying to get him to sign on till the end of next season. He could still be drafted but wait a year to come over.
I highly doubt it.
Why would Real Madrid even do that though? I know he's great but they have loads of fringe NBA talent and could replace him and still sit atop of the standings again.Do you think he would leave if Real Madrid offered him 20 mil for the season? He could come over the next season when he would still be only 20 and pocket 20mil. I know what my decision would be. I'm not saying it will happen but it definitely could be a possibility

Rookies!
They're not paying a single player over $3M... They're not going to toss $12M-$14M for one more year of Doncic. Why would they? Cause they are loaded. One of the richest clubs in the world. Maybe it's not 20mil maybe 12-14mil. That's around double what he will make in the NBA next year. Might be hard to turn that down. What would you do and why?

And if that was the plan, then Doncic wouldn't be coming into the draft this year. The rookie scale goes up a ton next year, and the top of this year's draft is stronger than next year's.
So yeah, it's not going to happen.
You do realize that international prospects don't always enter the draft the year they become draft eligible? (ex. Rodions Kurucs)That is incorrect. He is draft eligible this year. It also happens a lot with players being drafted from over seas but come over latter and sometime not at all. Like I said, I'm not saying it will happen as all I am saying is it is a possibility

And players that get stashed are usually due to teams not have minutes available for them right away, so the NBA team has them stay in Europe so that they can play heavy minutes to continue their development. That wouldn't be the case with Doncic, as he'd likely start.
When was the last time an international prospect drafted in the Top 10 remained overseas?
So no, there's no chance that happens.
I've always wanted to go. This might be the year.
Speaking of Summer League, where the heck is Storyteller?
When I first moved there in 2004, I was surprised to see that even at grocery stores, there were spots for slot machines. Even more disturbing - people were smoking while playing the slots....in the grocery store.....I remember the first time going to Reno and slot machines were in pretty much any location as they had slot machines in stores like most states have bubble gum machines. If you hadn't lost enough money yet, you can always gamble in the airport before you catch your flight in Vegas or Reno.
I am always a bit befuddled at how little success in the regular season results in a guy not showing up for summer league. Shabazz had plenty to prove but didn't show last season.Collins better play. He's not ready to forego opportunities to better his game.
Not anymore. The smoking that is.When I first moved there in 2004, I was surprised to see that even at grocery stores, there were spots for slot machines. Even more disturbing - people were smoking while playing the slots....in the grocery store.....

I remember the days when people would come over to my desk at Tektronix with a burning cigarette hanging loosely from their lips. Sometimes ashes would fall on my paperwork.True. They still allow smoking in all the local bars though. Wish they'd change that.
They will when the vast majority of their customers are no longer septuagenarians.True. They still allow smoking in all the local bars though. Wish they'd change that.
